Ridgewood N J, Elon Musk has reported that the first human recipient of a Neuralink implant is recovering well, marking a significant milestone in the brain-computer interface industry. Neuralink’s implants, which use ultra-fine electrodes, aim to aid individuals with traumatic injuries, with future goals extending to addressing hearing and vision loss and even facilitating a merger between humans and artificial intelligence. Musk envisions the initial application, called Telepathy, allowing users to control devices through thought, benefiting those who have lost limb functionality.

Fair Lawn Police Officer Injured During Pursuit of Suspects

Fair Lawn NJ, a Fair Lawn police officer, who was actively searching for two (2) fleeing shoplifting suspects, sustained a minor injury during a Monday morning, 01/29, two (2) vehicle crash at the intersection of Maple Avenue and River Road, Fair Lawn. The officer was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle involved was uninjured. Both shoplifting suspects were swiftly captured by other responding officers near the crash scene, which is right in front of the CVS store that was targeted by the alleged shoplifters. A flatbed tow truck removed the damaged unmarked police car from the scene. The other vehicle involved in the crash left the scene on its own power.

Priceless Painting Returned to Owner After Being Stolen in North Jersey in 1969

Newark NJ,a historic and priceless English painting, “The Schoolmistress” by artist John Opie, stolen over 50 years ago by New Jersey mobsters, has been returned to its owner, Francis Wood, after a two-year FBI investigation. The painting, taken from Wood’s Newark home in 1969, was recently ruled as his rightful property by a judge in Washington County, Utah. The FBI, along with detectives from the Metropolitan Police in London, played a crucial role in the investigation. The painting, dating back to around 1784, depicts an elderly woman teaching children in a classroom in Cornwall, England. It was found in Utah in 2021, among the property of a deceased client who unwittingly purchased a house containing the stolen artwork. The painting, previously thought to be in the possession of organized crime gangs, has now been returned to the Wood family.

Jersey City NJ, five years ago, Mayushi Bhagat left her Jersey City apartment in pajama pants and was never seen again. Despite efforts by family and friends, including a fundraiser, to find her, there are still no answers nearly five years later. Last month, the FBI Newark Field Office announced a new $10,000 reward for information about the missing student. Mayushi, born in India on July 12, 1994, was in the U.S. on an F1 student visa, studying at the New York Institute of Technology.

Two Pedestrians Hit on Maple Avenue in Fairlawn

Fair Lawn NJ, two (2) individuals were struck by at least one (1) vehicle near the intersection of Cedar Street and Maple Avenue, Fair Lawn shortly after 7:30 PM on Sunday, 01/28. Both individuals were transported by separate ambulances to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. One (1) victim was gravely injured, the other was alert and conscious as he/she was being loaded into an ambulance. Paramedics from The Valley Hospital assisted Fair Lawn EMS personnel at the scene. Maple Avenue was closed in both directions near the crash site for an indefinite period to facilitate an accident investigation.
