MENDEZ (DOB: 1/30/1967; married; product inspector) of Garfield, NJ on charges of production and possession of child sexual abuse material. Glen Rock NJ, while in police custody for alleged DUI, the driver of white colored SUV was transported by a Glen Rock EMS ambulance to The Valley Hospital following a Monday evening, 12/04, crash in the 600 block of Harristown Road, Glen Rock. Police allege that at approximately 6:15 PM, the driver stuck a utility pole prior to slamming head on into a Borough owned tree and coming to rest. There were no passengers in the SUV when it crashed. A tow truck was dispatched to remove the heavily damaged vehicle from the roadway. Harristown Road was temporarily closed between Berkeley Place and Ridge Road while emergency crews worked.

Ridgewood NJ, pedestrian safety activist Frank Geraghty pointed out an ongoing problem on Franklin Avenue and Maple Avenue North is a very dangerous badly marked crosswalk outside 65 Maple Avenue North. A westbound pedestrian looking left (south) can be fooled sometimes by an empty avenue void of traffic. What the pedestrian does not realize is when he or she gets the all clear and walks west bound on the crosswalk that there is fast moving nearby traffic a few yards away on the left coming from Franklin Avenue and entering Maple Avenue trying to beat a seven second green light which is blocked from pedestrian view by utility pole and street light.
