Mahwah NJ, the Bergen County Meet of Champions in cross-country has a rich history, dating back to 1973 for the boys and 1978 for the girls, when the county was divided into divisions. Prior to the creation of this meet, the boys had only one race from 1954 to 1964, and the girls had just one from 1974 to 1977. The event was named in honor of the late Lou Molino, the renowned Ramsey track and cross-country coach and athletic director, following his passing in 2011.
Teaneck NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced additional information in an investigation into a fatal crash involving the death of two previously unidentified victims that occurred on Saturday, October 21, 2023 on Teaneck Road in Teaneck, NJ. The investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Teaneck Police Department under the direction of Chief Andrew McGurr.
Paterson NJ, in the city’s sixth homicide in October, a man was fatally shot at about 3 a.m. Sunday morning near the parking lot of the Food Fair supermarket on Market Street, near East 36th Street, authorities said. The outbreak of October killings all in separate shooting incidents, represents Paterson’s worst month for homicides in more than three years.
Teaneck NJ, local officials have reported that the fourth-quarter property tax bills are currently missing, and despite this issue, the township is urging residents to ensure their payments are made by the November 1 deadline. Township Manager Dean Kazinci has posted a notice on the township’s Tax Department News webpage, indicating that an unspecified number of tax bills, which were hand-delivered to the Teaneck post office on September 22, have not yet reached the intended recipients. Kazinci expressed his concern over the delay, stating that he has personally contacted the Teaneck postmaster to convey his dissatisfaction and has formally requested an internal investigation to locate the missing mail.

Fort Lee NJ, the Brigade of the American Revolution’s (BAR) annual Fort Lee event will take place on Saturday, November 18th. Please plan to arrive at Fort Lee prior to 8:30am to make preparations for the event. Fort Lee will be an accurate representation of the chaos of retreat with the central goal of true interpretation for spectators to understand the sacrifices of 247 years ago. Throughout the whole day, soldiers will work on making last-minute defenses while civilians of both armies will do their best to share stories of the struggles of being behind or on the lines of the fighting. There will be presentations and demos throughout the day on 18th century cricket, coffee making, music, and artillery; plus merchants selling goods and the infamous Civilian Contingent fabric sale inside the museum. Prior to the battle reenactment, a quick parade to the center of the city will again take place to honor those that gave the ultimate sacrifice. General Washington and his staff will also be on site to ensure the retreat goes as planned. Waldwick NJ, the force of a two (2) vehicle early Monday afternoon, 10/23, crash at the intersection of Frederick Street and Harrison Avenue in Waldwick resulted in a Jeep SUV being propelled away from the impact site, up an embankment, and onto the lawn of a nearby home. The Jeep’s driver was transported to The Valley Hospital by a Waldwick EMS ambulance. Her injuries were said to be non life threatening in nature. The other vehicle’s (a Mercedes sedan) driver was shaken up in the mishap, but refused medical aid. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
