Ridgewood NJ, Four Ridgewood High School seniors have been named semi-finalists for the National Merit Scholarship. Jaywu Jun, Emily Jung, Nathan Kotchkin, and Gia Liu all have been recognized  which makes up less than 1% of all high school seniors.

Ridgewood High School senior Isabella Winn is one of the top soccer midfielders in the state with the uncanny ability to make a difficult game look easy. She sees openings that others can’t and swoops in to win ball battles that others won’t. She is graduating in January to get a head start in college with the defending national champion UCLA Bruins.

Twp. of Washington NJ, Paving/Driveway Sealing scams are targeting our area, mainly taking advantage of senior citizens.  Beware of unsolicited offers to do paving or driveway sealcoating work.  Never let solicitors inside your home. Calmly but firmly tell the solicitors you are not interested and tell them to leave your property. If they refuse your instructions call the police immediately.  If they are soliciting for paving, they MUST have a permit.

USA Pickleball Announces Plans to Make the Sport Quieter

Former Mayor of Upper Saddle River Francis J. Grout Passes Away at 92

Upper Saddle River NJ, Francis J. Grout, 92, on September 18, 2023 of Upper Saddle River, NJ. Beloved husband of the late Philomena. Loving father of Jason and the late Michael. Francis was a member of the Upper Saddle River Fire Department and achieved Chief status. He was mayor of Upper Saddle River from 1990 – 1999. Francis was a Korean War Veteran. He was a great handyman and loved to build things around the house. He also had an excellent sense of humor and was a great storyteller. Visitation was held on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 9 AM – 11 AM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey. A funeral mass was celebrated following visitation at 11:30 AM at Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River. Interment will follow at Saddle River Reformed Church Cemetery in Upper Saddle River.

More Trees For Ridgewood’s Central Business District

Ridgewood NJ, according to Village Manager Keith Kazmark , Phase 3 of the street revitalization Project will begin this Fall . The Village of Ridgewood will be relacing trees in the wells along Oak, Chestnut ,Walnut streets and Franklin Avenue in the Central Business District . The trees were chosen specifically to thrive in Ridgewood’s downtown , provide more shade in the summer , better air quality and create a more beautiful downtown.
