Ridgewood NJ, SEC Chair Gary Gensler faced criticism from lawmakers regarding his crypto regulation approach during a House hearing. He was questioned about the classification of bitcoin, how that compared to other assets like Pokemon cards, and the approval of bitcoin ETFs. Lawmakers also expressed concerns over Gensler’s transparency with Congress, especially regarding interactions with crypto exchange FTX.
Ridgewood NJ, the driver of a while colored Tesla was extricated by Ridgewood Fire Department firefighters after becoming entrapped in the vehicle’s passenger compartment following an early Thursday afternoon, 09/28, rollover crash in the 200 block of Van Emburgh Avenue, Ridgewood. The Tesla slammed into the back of a parked landscape contractor’s truck before rolling over on the driver’s side. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by separate flatbed tow trucks. The driver was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical’s main campus for treatment. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital responded to the crash as did several Ridgewood Police Department units. Paramus Police Department assisted with traffic control.

Ridgewood Mayor Paul Vagianos referred to the well documented, notarized, $47K mortgage note he holds on the Brooks/Price residence in Ridgewood, a copy of which is on file at the Bergen County Clerk’s Office, as an “alleged loan.” “Alleged?” Huh? Really Mr. Vagianos? And our mayor has the chutzpah to say this in a crowded meeting room while live on camera. What else can we say here? The man is unbelievable. Good grief!

Ridgewood NJ, even though it was indoors due to the rain, Ridgewood High School Marching Band had a great premiere performance of “Of Fae in Forests”! From the performance of our show, to our family demonstration (showing a family member how to march, conduct, play a percussion instrument or spin a flag!), to our AMAZING potluck dinner in the Camps Center, it was a great way to kick off our competitive season!
Garfield NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JARRELL TAVER-HUDSON (DOB: 03/05/1991; single; unemployed) of 170 River Drive, Garfield, NJ on charges of aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child charges. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Garfield Police Department under the direction of Chief Richard Uram.
Glen Rock NJ, on September 21st at 6:55 PM a Fair Lawn resident, who commuted from the NJ Transit Main Line Station reported that their black Shimano Infinity bicycle, with a reported value of $200, was taken from the bicycle rack at the NJ Transit Main Line Train Station. The complainant reportedly locked it to the rack around 8 AM and it was gone when they returned. A series of bicycle thefts from NJ Transit Train Stations are currently under investigation by the Detective Bureau and the NJ Transit Police.
