Roseland NJ, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) awarded $221,500 in scholarships to 53 New Jersey-based high school and college students on April 27 at the Pines Manor in Edison. Out of 146 applicants, the NJCPA Scholarship Fund distributed scholarships to 35 college students and 18 high school students.

Ridgewood NJ, National Small Business Week is approaching and many employers still struggling to hire new workers, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2023’s Best Small Cities to Start a Business. No surprise the Village of Ridgewood with it’s very high costs came in 7th worst in the entire country at number 1328 (out of 1334) . In overall business environment the Village placed 955 and in Business costs 1310 .

Ramsey Nj, Thursday morning at approximately 6:40am the Ramsey Fire Department was alerted to a possible structure fire on Lakeview Drive. First responding units arrived and confirmed a working fire in the attic of a single family private dwelling and requested the working fire assignment bringing in mutual aid from Wyckoff, Allendale and Mahwah Fire Departments . Responding units quickly extinguished the fire and had it under control at approximately 7:30am. No injuries were reported .

Hasbrouck Heights NJ, around 6 pm earlier Thursday Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department Chief 60, Chief 61, Engine 1, Ladder 1, and Rescue 1 responded to the 100 block of Washington Ave for a reported vehicle into a structure. Crews got on scene and confirmed that a vehicle drove through a detached garage where several of the walls were compromised. Wood-Ridge Fire Department responded as well and assisted with shoring and securing the structure, while the tow company removed the vehicles. Thank you to Moonachie and Little Ferry Fire Departments for standing by our firehouse to cover the Borough of Hasbrouck Heights . No injuries reported .

Ridgewood NJ, the adult driver of a late model Chevrolet Trax was injured in an early Friday evening, 04/28 crash involving a tree in the 200 block of Lakeview Drive, Ridgewood. The victim was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Ridgewood EMTs. Ridgewood Police also responded to the incident. A tow truck removed the wrecked subcompact from the scene.
