Ridgewood  NJ, former councilmen  Jeff  Voigt,  has developed a seemingly insatiable habit of sending a steady stream of letters to the various news outlets and social media sites.  In these letters he includes exaggerations, off-the-wall opinions, and total falsehoods about all manner of Village of Ridgewood business.  He clearly is driven by a hatred for one or two of his former council colleagues, and lets this flow in a diarrheic stream of false vitriol.

NJ Transit Rail Service will Operate on a Severe Weather Schedule; Bus and Light Rail will run Regular Weekday Service

Ridgewood NJ, NJ TRANSIT buses, light rail and Access Link will operate on a regular weekday schedule for as long as weather and road conditions allow.  Rail service will run on a Level 2 Severe Weather Schedule due to the predicted severe winter storm starting tomorrow. Cybersecurity Firm FireEye falls Victim to “Foreign Government” Cyber Attack

Washington DC, according to NJ Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP) a top cybersecurity firm in the United States detailed on December 8 that it fell victim to a recent cyber attack likely linked to a foreign government. FireEye said it was hacked by “a highly sophisticated threat actor, one whose discipline, operational security, and techniques lead us to believe it was a state-sponsored attack.” The firm concluded the attackers were from a nation with “top-tier offensive capabilities” and tailored the hack using a variety of new techniques specifically to target FireEye. The company confirmed tools used to test the cybersecurity of its clients—called “Red Team” tools—were stolen in the hack; however, there is no evidence of their use, and FireEye continues to monitor the situation while developing 300 countermeasures for its customers. FireEye noted there was particular interest from the hackers in certain government customers. The FBI is investigating the incident and said the level of sophistication in the attack is consistent with a nation-state.

Callahan announced today that the New Jersey State Police have arrested Andre Sulimenko, 56, of Barnegat, N.J., and United States Postal Service employees William Woolley, 52, of Jackson, N.J., and Nicholas Gooskos, 41, of Spring Lake, N.J. for various drug and weapon offenses and seized 2 kilograms of fentanyl, heroin, 54 guns, and high-capacity magazines.

Hackensack NJ, at least eight immigrants being held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement at Bergen County Jail in New Jersey are participating in a hunger strike to protest conditions at the facility and demand to be released. Local activists say the hunger strike is in its 18th day. ICE would not comment on how long the immigrants have stopped eating. Family members and activists who have spoken to detainees claim conditions inside the facility are “dire.”
