Allendale Police: No Threat to any borough school at this time, after shell casing was found at school

Allendale NJ, on October 1st, the Allendale Police Department was alerted by a school employee that a spent shell casing had been found inside one of the borough’s schools. At the time of the report, only a few staff members were present in the building. In response, the Allendale Police immediately ramped up patrols in the area and launched an investigation into the incident.

PhD Student from Northern Highlands Regional High School Faces Death Penalty in Horrific Case of Newborn’s Murder

Allendale NJ, Nicole Virzi, PhD student who graduated from Northern Highlands Regional High School could face the death penalty for allegedly killing her friend’s newborn and injuring his twin brother, according to prosecutors. The Allegheny District Attorney’s Office announced on Friday that it plans to pursue capital punishment against Virzi, 30, who is accused of violently ending the life of 6-week-old Leon Katz while babysitting him in June.

Clifton Man Charged in Allendale Armed Robbery and Kidnapping

Allendale NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JAHAN A. HENDLEY, 23, of Clifton, NJ on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping and other related offenses. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck and the Allendale Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Dillon.

T-Bone Crash In Allendale Sends Driver Hospital

Allendale NJ, a late Monday afternoon, 02/27, two (2) vehicle, “T-Bone” crash at the intersection of Cottage Place and East Allendale Avenue in Allendale, entrapped the driver of a silver colored Nissan SUV, and sent the vehicle up onto the front lawn of a nearby home. Allendale firefighters and Ramsey Rescue personnel extricated the victim, who was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicles involved in the collision were towed from the scene. Ramsey firefighters also provided assistance. Allendale Police investigated the crash.

Allendale Swears in a New Mayor

Allendale NJ, on January 5th the Allendale Mayor and Council held its annual Reorganization Meeting. Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips presented Mayor Ari Bernstein and Councilman Steve Sasso proclamations honoring their service to the Borough. Amy Wilczynski was sworn in as Allendale’s new Mayor. Tyler Yaccarino joined Matt O’Toole in being sworn in as members of the Council.
Rounding out the evening was the swearing-in of our Allendale Fire Department and Volunteer Ambulance Corp. leadership. Last but not least we had the swearing-in of Allendale’s newest Police Officers John Rubino and Mark Dunn, Jr.

Allendale Says No to Cell Pole Sighting Too Many Variances

Allendale NJ, the borough’s Land Use Board denied an application to install a second cell pole 172 feet from the first one, off West Crescent Avenue after two hearings this week. “I’m concerned with the number of variances,” Chairman Kevin Quinn told the Bergen Record . “If it was the right plan it wouldn’t need so many.” That’s nine variances in total requested to install the pole .
