Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco participated in the Bergen Volunteer Center’s Friday Forum “SUPERCHARGED” on the topic of electric vehicles. Transitioning away from combustion engines to alternative fuel vehicles (AFV’s) is an important step towards reducing emissions, yet, up until 2021, it was nearly impossible for counties and local municipalities to procure AFV’s including of hybrid, electric, hydrogen, and fuel cell vehicles through capital funds. Being a priority for my administration, our team at the County had been working with the Bergen legislative delegation since 2018 to change NJ fiscal bond law to allow these purchases just like any other SUV or truck and thankfully the change was signed into law last November.

Ramsey NJ,  Congressional Candidate Frank Pallotta (NJ-05) responded to opponent Nick De Gregorio’s ludicrous “divestment pledge”. “It’s embarrassing that someone with barely 36 months experience in the financial services industry, would have the gall, to come up with a solution that solves nothing except to prove that he has neither the knowledge nor the simplest understanding of an industry he claims to be a part of. His ridiculous pledge would “mandate” all seated and new congressional members to sell all of their stock holdings before taking office. The first public unveiling of his “pledge” at a Fort Lee Republican Club meeting last month, was met with bewilderment from the audience when it was made clear that his solution solved exactly nothing.

Ridgewood NJ, according to NJ.com in a recent Monmouth University Poll, 35% of Americans said they’d rather see Republicans control Congress, compared with 33% who chose the Democrats. And just 39% approved of President Joe Biden’s performance in office with 54% disapproving. “Democrats are spooked and they have good reason to be,” Rubashkin said. “If [Gottheimer is] truly is one of the Democrats’ most vulnerable, they are in a world of trouble.” Also on the House Democratic list are 3rd Dist. Rep. Andy Kim, 7th Dist. Rep. Tom Malinowski and 11th Dist. Rep. Mikie Sherrill. Particularly jarring for Democrats  is that the Monmouth University Polls have a consistent  “far left” bias .
