East Rutherford NJ, After nearly two decades of construction delays and billions pumped in from New Jersey tax payers , New Jersey’s mega-mall American Dream partially opened last October. Six months later, the three-million-square-foot venue was forced to close its doors because of the coronavirus pandemic. Now, even as the state continues its gradual reopening, there is still no reopening date for the $5 billion mall. As NJ.com reported, owner Triple Five Group has missed three consecutive mortgage payments and retail tenants are getting out of their leases at the space. On top of that, contractors and subcontractors have filed over $13 million in construction liens for unpaid work.

Mobile COVID-19 Testing To End in Bergen County

Hackensack NJ,  Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco announces that the final two locations for the Community Mobile Testing Program, which has hosted 39 locations over the last ten weeks, will take place next week with sites in Teaneck and Waldwick. The program has administered over 30,000 tests for COVID-19 and COVID-19 antibodies to county residents free of charge thanks to a partnership between the County of Bergen and Bergen New Bridge Medical Center.

And while we are on the subject of taxes, for anyone who doesn’t understand why people leave this State — I just received my own tax returns from my accountant. I owed the Federal government $0. In fact many years I overpay. The State of NJ? I owe them money almost every single time. How or why can I owe the Federal government nothing and owe thousands of additional dollars to NJ? Because New Jersey does not allow you to take many of the deductions that are allowed at the Federal level. For everyone complaining about the SALT Cap at the Federal level these are the items that NJ does not let you deduct:
