ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ — In a bold move toward a tech-driven future, the Borough of Englewood Cliffs is officially stepping into the Smart City arena.

On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will be signed between the borough and LG CNS America Inc. at a press conference hosted at LG CNS Headquarters, 111 Sylvan Avenue. This landmark event kicks off a transformative public-private partnership focused on building a Technology and Innovation District right in the heart of Bergen County.

Firefighters Battle Brush Fires Along New Jersey’s Palisades as Red Flag Warning Continues

Englewood Cliffs NJ, Firefighters worked tirelessly through the night to contain a series of brush fires along the Palisades in Englewood Cliffs. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service reported that the largest fire, covering roughly 19 acres, was about 30% contained by morning. Fire engines, ground crews, and a helicopter capable of dropping 350 gallons of water are actively working to contain the blaze.

Englewood Cliffs NJ, on Wednesday night, emergency responders from the Fort Lee Fire Department and the East Bergen High Angle Rescue Team undertook a difficult recovery mission at the Rockefeller Lookout along the Palisades Interstate Parkway. Reports of a possible jumper led to a coordinated effort beginning around 8 p.m., lasting into the early hours of Thursday.

VILLEGAS VALERA of Elmhurst, New York on charges stemming from an armed robbery. The arrests and indictments are the result of a months-long investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck and the Englewood Cliffs Police Department under the direction of Chief William Henkelman.

Englewood Cliffs NJ, a conservative free speech group that targets mainstream media brought billboard-sized digital screens into Englewood Cliffs this week, outside the purported residence of law student Mohit Mookim a Stanford University law school student who lives there. The group Accuracy In Media says that members of Mookim’s campus organization Stanford National Lawyers Guild heckled a conservative federal judge at a speaking event.
