PARAMUS NJ, Bergen Community College has launched the first official podcast in the institution’s nearly 60-year history. The series premiere of Bergen Banter went live on all major podcast platforms, including Spotify, iHeartRadio and Apple Podcast, on November 20. Leveraging the institution’s faculty and staff as content area experts, the podcast aims to educate, offering listeners an opportunity to take a deep dive into topics of global, civic and recreational interest.

New Jersey Municipalities Brace for “Affordable Housing” Mandates

Paramus NJ, last month, New Jersey’s municipalities learned their “affordable housing obligations” for the next decade. The state Department of Community Affairs (DCA) published calculations detailing the number of units each of the state’s 564 municipalities must accommodate by 2035. The arrest was the result of a homicide investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck and the Paramus Police Department under the direction of Chief Robert M. Guidetti.

Paramus to Upgrade Busy Midland and Farview Intersection in 2025

Paramus  NJ, Paramus residents will see major upgrades to the intersection of Midland and Farview Avenues next year. Mayor Chris DiPiazza  made the announcement on Facebook. This key crossing has been selected by the Borough Council as the focus for safety and traffic improvements, which include adding left-turn lanes, enhancing sidewalks, and removing outdated traffic features. The Council recently approved the project to go to bid, marking a big step forward in the town’s effort to modernize busy intersections.

Bergen Community College an Inaugural Partner in UK Student Exchange Program

Paramus NJ, the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) and U.K. Association of Colleges (AoC) have selected Bergen Community College as an inaugural partner for a collaborative student exchange program focused on sustainability with colleges in the United Kingdom. Officially the “U.S.-UK Community College and Technical Education Exchange,” the program will pair Bergen with Southport College in England to collaborate on initiatives related to sustainable construction. ACCT and AoC officials announced program participants at the ACCT’s leadership congress event this month in Seattle.

Paramus NJ, a construction project to install guard rails along the shoulder of Route 17 southbound in Paramus took an unexpected turn on Friday morning, September 27, when workers accidentally punctured a large water main. The incident led to the closure of both the right shoulder and right travel lane between the Paramus Park overpass and Midland Avenue as crews raced to contain the situation.
