Sheila Brogan, Hyunju Kwak, and Muhammad Mahmoud were sworn in for a three-year term, followed by nominations and the election of a new Ridgewood School Board president and vice president. Hyunju Kwak was elected president, and Michael Lembo was elected vice president. The Ridgewood school district is the largest in Bergen County with 5,705 students .

Ridgewood NJ, “TEST TO STAY” GUIDANCE The US CDC on December 17 said unvaccinated students exposed to a person with COVID-19 can remain in school if they are tested twice in the week following exposure and both tests are negative. The new guidance, known as “test to stay,” is an effort to keep children in school instead of having to quarantine at home and miss class, while also alleviating the burden on parents to arrange child care.

Philadelphia PA, this Halloween marked the 50th anniversary of the prestigious Head of the Schuylkill Regatta. Although not quite as large as the Head of the Charles, this regatta is still one of the big ones, attracting nearly 9,000 rowers and over 30,000 spectators. It was considered to be the world’s largest one day regatta, until it grew so large that it had to be separated into two days. Collegiate teams, elite teams, and masters teams race on Saturday, while highschool and club teams race on Sunday.
