River Edge NJ, on April 12 at approximately 2:05 pm, New Milford Fire Department was dispatched for a water rescue at the 100 block of New Bridge Road. New Milford Fire Chief 301 was first on scene along New Milford and River Edge Police. New Milford’s Marine 38 squad responded with their Boat and rescue team. Mutual aid from River Edge and Oradell Fire Departments responded with there rescue boats as well.

The first program, French Connection brought by Classic V Winds, explores virtuosity, color, and humor in works for woodwind quintet by the Grammy-winning composers Paquito D’Rivera and Valerie Coleman. Classic V is joined by RCC’s artistic director, pianist Slavina Zhelezova, in two explorations of the piano & woodwind sextet – by fellow French composers Louise Farrenc and Francis Poulenc. Children’s instrument petting zoo precedes this free-of-charge concert.

River Edge NJ, Friday night around 0140 hours,River Edge Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a garage fire on Eastbrook drive. Upon arrival, units found not only the attached garage but the house and several vehicles to be well involved, River Edge Volunteer Fire Department as well as surrounding towns worked to extinguish the blaze. No injuries reported as all residents of the home were safely evacuated. Several sections of the home collapsed as a result of the large fire.

River Edge NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco recognized Bergen County Sheriff’s Officers Wayne Desmet and Augustine Sanchez, as well as Security Officer Edison Duran for their actions that saved the life of a person found unconscious in Van Saun Park.
River Edge NJ, County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of ERIC PALESE (DOB: 6/28/1995, single; warehouse manager) of Tarrytown, NY on charges of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal sexual contact. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the River Edge Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Walker.
