Changes in Parking Regulations Governing North Walnut Street and Mastin Place in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, the Village of Ridgewood has introduced an ordinance to alter parking regulations governing North Walnut Street (Mastin Place to Linwood Avenue) and Mastin Place (Oak Street to North Maple Avenue). This change is in response to resident complaints regarding vehicles parking for extended periods of time, hindering their ability to safely
back from driveways and to utilize the street for temporary parking.

Ridgewood NJ, Every year, the Village of Ridgewood is responsible for cutting down a perfectly healthy spruce/ fir tree for its annual Christmas tree lighting. These old and huge trees, 65+feet high, are felled simply to become an attraction for a few weeks.

Overnight Criminal Activity on Norgate Road in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, an impounded Hyundai Elantra (possibly stolen) believed to have been used by two (2) individuals who were engaged in alleged overnight/early morning criminal activity on Norgate Road, arrived for processing at Ridgewood Police Department headquarters early Wednesday morning, 08/16. One (1) of the individuals was apprehended at approximately 5:30 AM Wednesday by Paramus Police Department officers who were patrolling the target area. Several area police departments assisted in the search. The second suspect remains at large. Ridgewood Police Department officers also deployed a drone during an intense search for the suspects. Further details regarding the alleged criminal activity and suspect apprehension were scheduled to be released by late Wednesday morning.

Early Morning Fire in Hillsdale Under Investigation

Hillsdale NJ, this morning at 5:11 am the Hillsdale Fire Department was dispatched to a house under construction with visible smoke showing . Woodcliff Lake Truck 7 was also dispatched . Hillsdale Fire Department Deputy 3 arrived at the scene confirming a working fire in a 2 1/2 story residence.

Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care Conducts Ice Compress Clinical Trial

Ridgewood NJ, Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care has welcomed its first patient in the ICE COMPRESS clinical trial that is comparing the effectiveness of three approaches in the prevention of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. At this time, Valley is the only site in New Jersey participating in the trial. The clinical trial is sponsored by SWOG Cancer Research Network in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

Hi all! My name is Grace! I am a staff member at Camp Sunshine & Camp Snowflake right here in Ridgewood! I am posting here to share some info about camp and the volunteer opportunities!
Camp Sunshine is a day camp for children and adults with multiple disabilities. At camp, our campers spend the day swimming, playing games, doing crafts, and making new friends with volunteers.
We are currently in need of more volunteers to spend a fun filled day with our campers. As a volunteer, your child will gain experience working with others who may be a little different from them. No prior experience is needed to volunteer. Our trained staff help and work together with the volunteers to ensure that they are comfortable and enjoying their time with our campers.
Please feel free to reach out to me or directly to our camp for more information. Volunteers must be 12 years of age or older. Volunteer summer hours are 9-3:30 weekdays! Fall/winter hours 12:30-4 on Saturdays.https://sunshine-snowflake.org

Bergen County Roads Division Completes Godwin and Linwood Avenue Paving Projects

Ridgewood NJ, its a great day for Ridgewood the pothole marred Linwood Avenue  has been paved .The last leg of the County paving project was completed on Tuesday, August 8th. The County Roads Division has been hard at work most of the summer all over the county and while many county roads are still in need of improvement Ridgewood can be grateful for getting Franklin, Godwin and Linwood  paved in the last couple of years . All this will greatly improve traffic flow and cut congestion in and out of the central business district in Ridgewood and not to mention be far easier  on your tires and teeth fillings .
