Ridgewood NJ, a medical episode may have triggered a four (4) vehicle, chain reaction, Tuesday afternoon, 07/18, crash on Cottage Place in Ridgewood. The driver of a Honda SUV, who may have experienced a medical episode, was transported to The Valley Hospital by ambulance. A flatbed tow truck removed the Honda SUV and one of the three (3) struck parked vehicles from the scene. The owners of every damaged parked vehicle were participating in a bridge tournament at a nearby church. Ridgewood Police is investigating the crash. Ridgewood Fire Department firefighters mitigated a crash related fluid spill and provided EMS.

Thanks to Councilwoman Lorraine Reynolds who championed the transfer of $500,000 designated for repairs to the village’s historic Zabriskie-Schedler house toward an estimated $1 million sidewalk project , known as the West Glen Avenue sidewalk installation safety initiative at the budget meeting in May, Reynolds argued that the historic home repairs would be stalled by lawsuits and the money should be put to more immediate use on “safety projects.”
