Ridgewood NJ, a Thursday afternoon, 02/03 collision in the 500 block of Northern Parkway, Ridgewood propelled a Toyota Scion across the front lawn of a nearby home, and into the driveway of second home, where it crashed into a parked car and the second home’s foundation. The three (3) occupants of all vehicles involved (2 adults and 1 child) refused ambulance transportation to a local hospital. The Toyota Scion and parked Toyota Camry were towed from the scene. The third vehicle, a Chevrolet Equinox, was driven from the scene on its own power. Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire Department, and Ridgewood EMS personnel and vehicles responded to the incident. Fortunately no children playing in the neighborhood at time of the incident .

At Wednesday nights Council meeting, Councilman Michael Sedon participated in the Work Session held in the Sydney V. Stoldt, Jr. Court Room in Village Hall for 21 minutes without wearing a mask. Councilmen Sedon was the only person in the room without a mask during those 21 minutes. Once again like the Ridgewood Board of Education what message does this send to Village employees and taxpayers? When he was reminded about the mandate, Councilmen Sedon claimed that he’d “lost his mask.”

Ridgewood NJ, according to the Ridgewood Police on Sunday, January 23rd at approximately 4:25pm, Ptl. Chris Mormino was on patrol on the west side of town. While on Knollwood Road, Officer Mormino located a suspicious vehicle that would later be reported as stolen out of the Village. The passenger of this vehicle was out of the car and appeared to be attempting a theft of another vehicle. Fortunately that theft was averted. These thefts happen at all hours of the day and usually involves unlocked vehicles with their keys in them.

Middletown NJ, Assemblymembers Vicky Flynn and Gerry Scharfenberger (LD13 – R’s) are speaking out against the introduction of Senate bill S247, a piece of legislation that if passed would fundamentally change voter registration requirements by allowing potential voters to show up on Election Day and register to vote on top of other drastic reductions to registration requirements which will undermine the integrity of the election process and wreak havoc at the polls on Election Day.

Nationwide, the number of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty in 2021 reached 73, according to FBI data. Ridgewood firefighters responded to a suspected electrical fire in a second floor bedroom at a single family home in the 400 block of Godwin Avenue on Monday morning, 01/31. No injuries were reported in the incident and damage to the structure was very minor in nature. A malfunctioning heater, not a fire as initially suspected, was confirmed by fire department personnel to be the source of excessive smoke inside of the structure. Ridgewood PD provided traffic control at the scene.
