It may have many definitions, but home is definitely where you feel safe, easy, and comfortable. Depending on your home’s heating and cooling needs or the overall usage, HVAC units are prone to certain problems from time to time. But considering how important these units are to us, technical hitches on HVAC systems should be dealt with as soon as possible.
Ridgewood NJ, Workers at Amazon, Whole Foods, Instacart and Shipt say they will walk off the job Friday to protest their employers’ failures to protect them during the coronavirus pandemic. In a flyer shared on social media, organizers of the “May Day General Strike” call on customers to boycott Whole Foods, Amazon, Instacart and Target, which owns Shipt.
“May Day General Strike” comes amid rising activism from workers at the companies, many of who have been exposed to and even died from COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.
Ridgewood NJ, according to the Ridgewood Police department ,on April 15, police responded to a report of a burglary on Meadowbrook Avenue. Police said the homeowner reported someone had broken into two cars in his driveway. Police canvassed the area but found no one matching the homeowner’s description.
The homeowner told police nothing was stolen from the vehicles. The burglary was filmed on surveillance cameras, and footage will be provided to police at a later date.

Pam Perron in zoom meetings has stated that she is (1) in favor of high-density housing (2) in favor of moving all elections to November, in which case citizens would no longer be able to vote on proposed Board of Education budgets (3) in favor of combining the Village Council and the Board of Education (educate yourself, Pam, this cannot be done at the local level, it has to be done by state legislators) (4) in favor of giving big money to the library. Somehow she also thinks she could be a negotiator for police and fire contracts, something that Village Councilmen do not do. Mahmoud Hamza is in favor of high density housing and he believes astro turf is safe. Worst of all, both of these candidates are backed by the worst of the worst – Halaby, Aronsohn, Sonenfeld, Hauck, Harwin, Winograd, Phillips, Willett, Lehman and more have signed on for them. If you want to see our village go all the way downhill on the course that Aronsohn started, vote for them. If you want to preserve Ridgewood with sensible development and smart, informed representatives, vote LORRAINE REYNOLDS, Sergio Alegre, and Bernadette Walsh.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police Patrol Officer Michael Karcher was dispatched to assist in the rescue of a canine who’d gotten stuck between two (2) parallel fences in the rear of Ridgewood High School on Monday afternoon, 4/27. A bystander kept the pooch occupied with dog treats while Officer Karcher located its owner. The owner and uninjured Labrador were successfully reunited without injury to either. Reportedly, the dog had gotten tired of Governor Murphy’s “stay at home” order and crawled through a hole in one of the fences.
Ridgewood NJ, A devastating medical episode apparently caused the driver of a KIA Sportage to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a concrete wall on the exit ramp of Route 17 northbound to Linwood Avenue westbound in Ridgewood on Saturday afternoon, 04/25. Personnel from Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood EMS, and Ridgewood Fire Department, along with a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital, rushed to aid the seemingly lifeless victim, who was rushed by ambulance to The Valley Hospital. A tow truck removed the wrecked SUV from the roadway. All traffic was diverted away from the exit ramp while emergency personnel were engaged in performing life saving procedures.
Ridgewood NJ, The Village Code of the Village of Ridgewood Section 105-13, requires that all owners of dogs must immediately and properly place their pet’s solid waste, which has been deposited onto public or private property, into a suitable container (plastic bag) and then disposed of in a refuse container. It also provides for a fine of up to $500 for not doing so. Recently, there have been many pet owners who are not picking up after their pets and/or placing the bags with solid waste into their neighbor’s bushes or leaving the bag on the ground. At this very challenging time, please do the right thing by picking up after your dog and disposing of it properly.
Ridgewood NJ, Governor Murphy Signs Executive Order Allowing Municipalities to Extend Grace Period for May 1st Property Tax Payments until June 1st.
Governor Murphy today signed Executive Order No. 130, which allows municipalities to extend the grace period for property tax payments due on May 1st to June 1st.
Ridgewood NJ, Tony Loving made some interesting comments in the It takes a Ridgewood Village Facebook group, “During an April 22nd Village Council discussion about allocating spaces in the new Hudson Street parking garage, not a single Council member mentioned the potential long term impact COVID-19 may have on the demand for parking spaces throughout the Village’s Central Business District and at the train station. Whether we like to admit it or not, demand for parking spaces in Ridgewood may never be anything like it was pre-pandemic. Many Village residents may be working from home permanently, or commuting to their NYC offices very infrequently. Demand for parking by shoppers and diners, particularly diners, may never reach pre-pandemic levels. Village Council members need to immediately revisit their plan for the allocation of parking spaces, and make revisions based upon current events. Allocation proposals developed in the garage’s pre-construction phase should be thrown out of the window at this point in time. Unfortunately, when the dust settles, there may be an excess number of parking spaces. If that’s the case, consideration should be given to re-purposing one or more surface parking lots.”
