Bergen County Still Counting Ballots

mail in ballots

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

River Vale NJ, Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi , “Bergen County folks….many of our local races are pretty much all still up for grabs. We won’t know final numbers until next week.
Vote counters in Bergen County had tallied ballots only through Nov. 1 as of election night, with tens of thousands received Monday and Tuesday yet to be tallied, leaving many local races in limbo.
When the first set of unofficial totals for the county were released Tuesday night, about 377,000 ballots had been included, according to the county website. Those numbers reflected only ballots received through Sunday and a small number of Monday ballots, said Jamie Sheehan-Willis, chairwoman of the Bergen County Board of Elections. She said the county had received an estimated 451,000 ballots before Election Day. She expected that number to be much higher when the ballots submitted via drop box on Tuesday were included.”

“Fair Share” Housing and the Secret Democrat Plan to turn NJ-05 Blue

high density housing 222
By Frank Pallotta GOP Congressional Candidate for District 5
“As I have traveled the District these past 18 months, I’ve heard from a number of residents eager to speak openly about a wide variety of issues. They have also been willing to offer both real insight and practical solutions.
Regardless of county or town, there is one matter that consistently comes up. The High-density housing mandates that are being forced upon our State by predatory developers and the extremist wing of the Democrat party are ruining small and large towns across New Jersey – all under the guise of “Affordable Housing”. “

New Bridge Crossing NJ,  We hope you and your families are doing well. Baseball is back. It’s hard to imagine that so late in July. Each July past, we have hosted a Vintage base ball game in the meadow that has always been well attended by cranks who enjoy both baseball and history. While the game was cancelled this year, in honor of baseball starting up again, we wanted to share the history of the game right in our own backyard, New Bridge. Enjoy the history of the game on a local level, photos are from past events.

from Bergen County Historical Society

“The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.” An extract from a letter written by John Adams to his wife Abigail. July 3rd, 1776.

Tyco Animal Control Services : Whitetail Deer Does are having their Fawns now

Ridgewood NJ,  according to Tyco Animal Control Services Whitetail Deer Does are having their Fawns now. They are all over the place. If the Fawn is curled up and resting, they are fine. The Doe does not stay with her baby. She leaves and goes to feed so she can make the rich milk her baby needs. She DID NOT abandon her baby. If the Doe has twins she will often leave one and take one with her. She will bring the 2nd Fawn to another location. (this is to protect her babies. If a predator gets one she will still have one baby left) The Mother may not return for up to 15 hours. Then she may feed her baby and leave it again to go forage. The baby is born without scent to help keep it safe from predators. If you stand a Fawn up, it will drop right back down to the ground. The babies legs are not broken, the baby is not paralyzed. This is s natural instinct to make themselves as small as possible and they know not move so a predator will pass them by.

Hackensack NJ, Statement from Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco COVID-19 Presumed Positive Test-Bergen County :

“As I stated yesterday in my press conference ” we know the COVID-19 virus will happen in New Jersey and if it should happen in Bergen County we will be prepared and ready” now that a presumed positive test result has occurred here in Bergen County I have been in contact with Mayor Sokolich  and have offered the full support of county government. Our Bergen County Health Officer has been in contact with the local health officer offering any assistance they made need. I have been in contact with the Governor Phil Murphy’s office and will continue to do so. As more information is gathered we will work with our local municipal partners to get it out to the public.  Again, Bergen County, through its Office of Emergency Management, Health Department and other county agencies, are prepared  and are taking all appropriate action to address the situation despite the very low risk COVID-19 poses to the general public.
