Trenton NJ, Governor Phil Murphy signed Executive Order No. 211, postponing the upcoming February fire district elections, March special school elections, and all other special elections for filling vacancies to April 20, 2021.
Ridgewood NJ, “One Village One Vote”, is not the first to promote “the dangers of taxpayers voting in public schools”. School safety during voting is a false claim made for years by “educators” looking to hide from tax payers what is going on in public education. Recent protests demonstrate the need for more parent involvement in the education process not less. Administrators clearly do not want parents near schools so the lack of learning will not be challenged.
Ridgewood NJ, the “One Village One Vote” campaign is filled with misinformation and if it passes, residents will lose their right to vote on BOE budgets. The “One Village One Vote” campaign is a blatant attempt to to remove taxpayer oversight form the school budgeting process . The $115 million school budget account for approximately 2/3 of the Village property tax bill.
The most offensive part of this claim is the idea that because many residents choise not to vote , that means no one should get that right .

This election year, millions of Americans will donate to the political candidates and initiatives of their choice at the local, state, and federal levels. But for unionized workers, union dues come out of their paychecks and go to political causes—and they aren’t consulted on where that money will go.
In July, The Wall Street Journal’s Tom McGinty and Brody Mullins published an eye-opening report that “Organized labor spends about four times as much on politics and lobbying as generally thought.”
Ridgewood NJ, Concern over mail-in balloting is rising as the presidential election approaches. Last month, we highlighted California Governor Gavin Newsom’s brazen mail-in ballot scam: an executive order mandating mail-in ballots “to preserve public health in the face of the threat of Covid-19.” JudicialWatch challenged the executive order in federal court, prompting the state legislature to pass a law ensuring that mail-in balloting would take place.
In June in a response to an Open Public Records Act request to the Bergen County Clerk’s Office it was discovered that 710 Ridgewood voter ballots or approximately 15% were REJECTED in connection with the May 12, 2020 Board of Education, Board of Education Budget, and Village Council General Election.
Paterson NJ, Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal today announced voting fraud charges against Paterson City Councilman Michael Jackson, Councilman-Elect Alex Mendez, and two other men in connection with the May 12, 2020 special election in the City of Paterson.
All four men are charged with criminal conduct involving mail-in ballots during the election. The investigation by the Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity & Accountability (OPIA) began when the U.S. Postal Inspection Service alerted the Attorney General’s Office that hundreds of mail-in ballots were found in a mailbox in Paterson. Numerous additional ballots were found in a mailbox in nearby Haledon. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all voting in May 12 elections in New Jersey was done by mail-in ballots.
Ridgewood NJ, according to a NJ Spotlight analysis, New Jersey election officials did not count ballots for several reasons, often because of issues with signatures.About one in every 10 people who mailed in ballots in last month’s special elections had their votes rejected, which could forebode the potential disenfranchisement of tens of thousands of New Jerseyans in next month’s primaries.
Ridgewood NJ, this afternoon, Governor Murphy issued an Executive Order regarding New Jersey elections scheduled through May 12, 2020. Please note that March and April elections have been postponed until May 12, 2020 and all elections now scheduled for May 12 will be conducted solely via vote-by-mail ballot. This means all registered voters will be mailed a vote-by-mail ballot and there will be no in-person voting at polling places for these elections. These changes do not impact the June Primary Election.
Ridgewood NJ, A bill (A2959) recently introduced by Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips would prohibit candidates and elected officials charged with crimes from using campaign contributions to fund their legal defenses.
Ridgewood NJ, A New Jersey government panel has struck down the state’s automatic vote-by-mail enrollment law as an unconstitutional unfunded mandate.
The Council on LocalMandates, which is independent of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of State government, was created pursuant to the “State Mandate, State Pay” amendment to the New Jersey Constitution, approved by voters in November 1995, and an enabling statute, the Council Statute, that became effective in May 1996.
Initially the Council appeared to siding in favor of the current law but according to the Burlington County Times on Friday found against it .
The law, first enacted in 2018 and then amended this past summer, requires county clerks to automatically issue vote-by-mail ballots to registered voters who previously requested them for any upcoming election. Previously, voters had to request a new vote-by-mail ballot for each election.
Ridgewood NJ, Based on a letter Dr. Fishbein received from the Superintendent of Elections voicing concerns about safety at schools that are open on Election Day 2020, the Board discussed the pros and cons of altering the school calendar next year on that date as well as additional security measures that might be implemented that day. The Board consensus was to keep the schools open that day.
Ridgewood NJ, The Bergen County Board of Elections is looking for poll workers, to work at the 11/5/2019 General Election, from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., right here in Ridgewood. To my fellow residents, No matter how you voted, we need to remember, we are one community and we all want what’s best for this community, even if our way of achieving that differs from one another. We, as a community, can have different opinions, philosophies or ideas, but that shouldn’t make us enemies. We need to set better examples for our children and our fellow residents. We must learn, or remember, to treat each other with kindness and respect. I tried to run this campaign with a positive message and showed nothing but respect for Mr. Loncto throughout. I may not agree with everything he’s done, but I wish him nothing but the best and appreciate his years of service. To those that did support me during this campaign, I can’t thank you enough. When you have the support system that I had, and the community behind you, you feel like you can do anything. We still have a lot of work to do, but it’s the beginning of change. We are all #RidgewoodStrong.
Tomorrow is Election Day and I hope you will exercise our greatest right and vote.
In Ridgewood, we vote for one open seat on the Board of Education. I am seeking re-election to continue the work I began seven years ago.
With your vote tomorrow, I will work every day to keep our schools among the best in the state and the country. If re-elected, each decision I will make will be the best for all students of the district and our
schools. I will continue to respect the integrity of our educators and educational product. And I will always remember the taxpayer.
