Ridgewood NJ, Major League Pickleball is getting new leadership as it looks to capitalize on the rise of America’s fastest-growing sport at the professional level. The team-based pro pickleball league announced Wednesday it has named finance and media executive Julio DePietro as its chief executive officer and former NFL executive Bruce Popko as chief operating officer.

Ramsey NJ, the first indoor, pickleball-only courts in Bergen County will  officially open on May 1, 2023. Bergen Pickleball Zone, located within the NJ Sports Academy facility at  50 Spring Street in Ramsey, will be home to four climate-controlled, pickleball courts dedicated  exclusively to the sport. Bergen County to begin Sport Court Improvements at three County Parks to improve access to Tennis, Pickleball, and Basketball courts

Hackensack NJ, the Bergen County Commissioners voted on Wednesday night to begin sport court improvements at three county parks to improve access to tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts. The three parks undergoing improvements will be Wood Dale County Park in Woodcliff Lake, Samuel Nelkin County Park in Wallington, and Saddle River County Park in Rochelle Park.

Paramus Jumps on the Pickleball Craze

Paramus NJ, the Borough of Paramus plans to construct its first pickleball court as the sport continues to sweep New Jersey and the nation. Pickleball is currently the fastest growing sport in America. Borough officials are currently in the process of finding a location to install a combined tennis and pickleball court after receiving a $207,500 Bergen County Open Space grant last year. Ultimately the town hopes to create an attractive Multi use Game Area to accommodate both sports.

Whether it’s debating court times, or dealing with noise complaints, as the sport’s popularity skyrockets demands for new Pickleball  facilities, and  dealing with paddle-toting attendees at council meetings have become the new norm.

Ridgewood NJ, the APP has unveiled the 2023 APP Pickleball Participation Report, a study conducted by YouGov on behalf of the APP that shows that pickleball, America’s fastest growing sport, has enjoyed even higher growth than previously thought in the 12 months from August 2021 to August 2022. The headline numbers include 14% of adult Americans (36.5 million people) playing pickleball at least once in that 12-month period; and 8.5 million people playing pickleball eight times or more in 2022. The rapid rise of pickleball also looks set to continue, with 45% of the 36.5 million total players saying they plan to play pickleball more often in the next six months than the previous six-month period.

NBA All-Star Kevin Durant is the latest athlete to buy a Major League Pickleball team

Ridgewood NJ, Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is the latest celebrity athlete taking his love of pickleball big league. The NBA All-Star and his business partner Rich Kleiman announced Thursday that their firm, Thirty Five Ventures (35V), has purchased Major League Pickleball’s newest expansion team. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“It would have been hard not to feel combative when your work of nearly a decade was being attacked with blatant lies and false claims while a sea of planted supporters of your opponents glared at you, laughed at you, and yes, openly booed. Horrible.”

Ridgewood NJ, the League of Women Voters Ridgewood Village Council Candidates’ Night went about as expected , the questions crafted were clearly meant to promote the agenda driven pet projects and special interests of Winograd and Weitz and their sponsors , no surprise there .  Weitz showed his total lack of knowledge of  the village by repeating well crafted pre written answers that often had nothing to do with the questions and making bold pronouncements to appease his handlers . Weitz came off having no clue and no experience and at one point actually promoted the idea that people who play pickleball are too feeble to make the Village Council meetings person?
