Ridgewood NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office reminds everyone to use social media safely as our Cyber Crimes Unit has seen an uptick in sextortion scams. If you are a victim, report the crime to your local police department. The FBI has seen a huge increase in the number of cases involving children and teens being threatened and coerced into sending explicit images online—a crime called sextortion.
