Questions Arise on Ridgewood Library “Donations”

by Steve Kim

My questions to the Library:

Who requested and who authorized the use of reserves to be marked as a donation? What was the amount? What meetings and discussions took place to determine this course of action, and who were the participants of that meeting?

Who proposed and who authorized the donation from Friends? What allows Friends to use donated funds in ways other than what is indicated on the webpage?

Reader says the Ridgewood Council Can’t Please Everyone

69871200 2548212938532290 9069006101873164288 o

“Well they are not pleasing everybody all the time; that is for sure. I am totally against the parking garage. I am for the Schedler house but not the property being developed. I am for the renovation of the library. so there.

The Village suit it turned out had no legality. It was turned down by the courts. The current council had no power to change the density of the multi family housing. The suit was about limiting the density to 25 or 30 units. It was not about stopping the housing from going up. That was passed by the the Three Amigos with the high density of 50 units per acre instead of 25. Plus the current council limited the size the garage to fit the current lot; because a larger garage would have been too ugly. Although I wanted NO GARGARE; I appreciate the current size decision even if it costs more money. I don’t want any garage I repeat. Aesthetics are very important to me.”

Ridgewood Library Reimagine : Layaway plan

70338290 10156851954321378 1456572359539425280 n

by Steve Kim

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Library Reimagine is a form of layaway plan to the scale of 8,000,000 dollars.

Village guarantees the project cost and Library then pays as it can without specific time guidelines. Holy moly!

There is no intent or plans to raise sufficient donations in advance of the project start. And as I noted, the chances of Ridgewood getting the full or any amount of the to be applied NJ Library grant isn’t good.

Let’s wake up here because Village (we) can be on the hook for a lot for the visions of few. Time for a serious reality check.
