Ridgewood NJ, as the weather gets warmer it is important to remember that Stage II restrictions (2 days per week irrigation) were imposed in June 2016 and are still in effect in Glen Rock, Midland Park, Ridgewood and Wyckoff. Without these restrictions, the use of drinking water for irrigation will continue increasing toward levels that are unsustainable regardless of drought conditions. To reverse this trend, an ordinance was approved by the Village Council on April 12, 2017 to amend the provisions governing Watering and Water Emergencies in the Village of Ridgewood Code. Ridgewood NJ, starting Sunday evening, October 18, 2020, at 9:00pm, Ridgewood Water (RW) will perform hydrant flushing in the systems of all four municipalities served by the utility. This is an essential part of our system maintenance program because it helps us to continue to provide you with high-quality water service. In order to cleanse the system, we have to systematically open the fire hydrants to increase water flows. This allows us to “flush” any minerals and deposits from the pipes that may have accumulated.

Ridgewood NJ, This is a reminder that Stage II water restrictions remain in effect. Odd numbered addresses may irrigate on Tuesdays and Saturdays only. Even numbered addresses may irrigate on Wednesdays and Sundays only. No irrigation is allowed on Mondays, Thursdays, or Fridays. Irrigation shall be performed before 10 am or after 6 pm, to limit evaporation. EXCEPTIONS: Irrigation is allowed any day (within time restrictions noted above) if utilizing a hand held hose or drip irrigation, or if a smart watering exemption is obtained from the office of Ridgewood Water.
