Paramus NJ, An early morning collision on Monday, February 3, resulted in significant damage to at least seven vehicles parked in the lot of a Tesla dealership on Route 17 northbound in Paramus.
Paramus NJ, a 2024 Dodge Hornet was totaled in a crash on Route 17 Northbound near Century Road in Paramus on Friday afternoon, September 6th. According to police, the accident occurred when another vehicle made an unsafe lane change, triggering the collision.
Paramus NJ, a refrigerated box truck rolled over on its side early Saturday morning, 06/08, as it entered the cloverleaf ramp leading from Route 17 northbound to Route 4 westbound in Paramus. The truck’s driver self-extricated prior to the arrival of emergency responders and was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Two (2) heavy duty tow trucks were required to right the vehicle. Paramus Police, Paramus EMS, and Paramus Fire Engine Companies 2 & 4 responded to the incident. Crash related traffic delays in the area were mostly limited to the exit ramp itself, which was closed for approximately two (2) hours.
Ridgewood NJ, a black colored Acura SUV occupied by an pregnant woman being rushed to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood early Wednesday morning, 09/06, was involved in a collision just minutes away from the hospital on Route 17 northbound at Linwood Avenue. The collision likely triggered birth of the baby, who was transported to the hospital’s emergency room along with mom and dad by the driver of a work van that may have also been involved in the collision. Mother, child, and father were reported to all be doing fine following the harrowing mishap. Ridgewood Police officers responded to the crash scene to retrieve personal items from the crashed Acura and to investigate the crash. The Acura was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Paramus Police assisted with traffic control.
Ramsey NJ, at 21:15 hours on Thursday July 6 upon wrapping up our monthly business meeting Ramsey Rescue, Ramsey NJ Fire Department, and Ramsey Ambulance Corps were dispatched for a reported MVA with rollover in flames in the area of Ramsey Mazda at Route 17 Northbound.
Paramus NJ, no injuries were reported by the driver of a Subaru Outback that veered off the road, mounted a guide wire, and crashed into a utility pole near the intersection of East Midland Avenue and Sette Drive, Paramus, on Friday morning, 06/16. The Outback was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. East Midland Avenue between Sette Drive and From Road was closed for an extended period to permit PSE&G to replace the damaged pole. The exit ramp from Route 17 northbound to East Midland Avenue eastbound was also closed in connection with the incident. Paramus Police and Paramus EMS responded to the mishap.
Lodi NJ, New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today are reminding motorists that Route 17 northbound will be closed for 24 hours this weekend for
a railroad crossing rehabilitation project in Lodi, Bergen County near the Hackensack University Medical Center.

Two (2) vehicles, including the Range Rover, were towed from the scene by separate flatbed tow trucks.

Multiple injuries requiring ambulance transportation were reported following the crash of an SUV into a utility pole. Paramus Police, Paramus Fire Department, and Paramus EMS units responded to the incident along with mutual aid ambulances and a paramedic team from the local hospital consortium.

Rochelle Park NJ, Firefighters from Rochelle Park, Maywood, and Hackensack worked in unison to free an adult male driver who was entrapped in his Toyota Corolla following a multi vehicle crash on Route 17 northbound in Rochelle Park on Tuesday afternoon, 11/06. Route 17 northbound was closed in the immediate area while emergency personnel aided crash victims, contained crash related fluid spills, and cleared the roadway of wreckage.
Ramsey NJ, Traffic on Route 17 northbound through Ramsey was slowed by a one (1) vehicle crash near Spring Street, Ramsey, late Friday afternoon and early evening, 06/01. Ramsey Police, EMS, and Rescue Squad personnel responded to the incident. Power was knocked out to a number of nearby Orange & Rockland Electric subscribers as a result of a struck utility pole. A Federal Express tractor trailer became stuck on a ramp to Route 17 northbound from Spring Street when utility cables dropped in front and back of the truck. The driver of the SUV involved in the crash sustained a head injury and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. A flatbed tow truck removed the wrecked vehicle from the scene.
Paramus NJ, Traffic on Route 17 northbound in Paramus was slowed to a crawl on Tuesday night, 03/20, after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole and rolled on its side just north of Ridgewood Avenue. The right and center travel lanes of the highway were temporarily shut while emergency crews worked. Two (2) of the vehicle’s occupants were injured; one (1) was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus; the other occupant refused medical attention. A dog traveling in the vehicle was also slightly injured; arrangements were being made at the scene to transport it to a nearby veterinary clinic. Paramus Police, EMS, FD, and OEM personnel responded to the incident. Tow truck personnel were standing by at the scene to remove the wrecked vehicle but were unable to do so until PSE&G Electric Division workers stabilized the downed utility pole and dangling wires.
Paramus Police, Fire Department, and EMS personnel responded to a Wednesday evening, 03/14, crash on Route 17 northbound near Kalisa Way, Paramus, in which an SUV hit a utility pole head on. The vehicle’s driver was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Center’s main campus. A paramedic unit from The Valley Hospital assisted Paramus EMTs with patient care. The force of the collision caused a pole mounted electric transformer to fall into a nearby parking lot. Traffic on Route 17 in both directions was slowed considerably until the wrecked vehicle was removed from the roadway by a flatbed tow truck. A PSE&G Electric Division employee was observed on the scene assessing damage to the electric distribution system equipment.
Ridgewood NJ, No injuries were reported following a crash in which a Toyota Camry would up hydroplaning off an entrance ramp to Route 17 northbound in Ridgewood on Thursday afternoon, 09/14. Ridgewood PD responded to the incident. A hydraulic lift tow truck removed the damaged vehicle from the scene.
