Use caution. According to Paramus Police Traffic was detoured at A&S drive left onto on Winters to Ridgewood Ave west, back onto 17 north . 17 north was reopened around 930am .
Mahwah NJ, The New Jersey State Police have arrested two men after they led a trooper on a vehicle pursuit through two counties. Tyree Newell, 20, of Bridgeport, CT allegedly pointed a gun at the pursuing trooper as Theron Brown, 22, of Bridgeport, CT, sped away after an attempted motor vehicle stop.

Wood Ridge NJ, At 9:58 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2020, a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle on Route 17 South in front of 255 Route 17 in Wood-Ridge, NJ. The victim, a 20-year-old man from Roxbury, MA, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ridgewood NJ, Three (3) ambulances were required to transport victims injured in a Saturday morning, 10/24, chain reaction crash on Route 17 southbound in Ridgewood. Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire , Ridgewood EMS, Ridgewood Emergency Services, and ALS & BLS personnel from The Valley Hospital responded to aid victims of the incident. At least four (4) vehicles were involved in the mishap; two (2) were removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Traffic on Route 17 southbound was restricted to one (1) lane while emergency personnel worked. NJDOT crews cleared the highway of crash generated debris. The Ridgewood Police Patrol Supervisor summoned a member of the department’s Detective Bureau to the scene for an unknown reason.
Paramus NJ, members of the Paramus Rescue Squad used the “Jaws of Life” to extricate two (2) individuals from a passenger sedan that spun around after being rear ended, and was facing the wrong direction in the fast lane of Route 17 northbound in Paramus on Thursday afternoon, 10/15. A total of four (4) vehicles were involved in the crash, which resulted in a complete closure of Route 17 northbound, just south of Ridgewood Avenue, to facilitate the response of emergency personnel. Paramus FD Engine Companies #1 and #3, Paramus Police, Paramus EMS, and a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital responded along with Paramus Rescue to aid the crash victims. Two (2) of the four (4) vehicles involved in the crash were removed by flatbed tow trucks. Both victims were transported by a Paramus EMS ambulance to Hackensack University Center’s main campus.
Paramus NJ, Paramus Police closed Route 17 in both directions between Ridgewood and Linwood Avenue for several hours on Saturday morning due to an accident, when a pedestrian was struck and killed crossing the highway . As of 12:30 p.m., all lanes were reopened after being closed since 6:30 a.m.

Mahwah NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of RYAN M. McMULLEN (DOB: 3/23/1983; single; personal trainer) of 3 Ramapo Terrace, Fair Lawn, NJ on a charge of Assault By Auto. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Mahwah Police Department under the direction of Chief Stephen Jaffe.
Paramus NJ, A Wednesday afternoon, 08/19, rollover crash on Route 17 northbound in Paramus resulted in only minor injuries, but slowed traffic in both directions of the busy highway. Paramus Police, Paramus Fire Department, and Paramus EMS personnel responded to the incident. A Paramus Police Emergency Services Unit righted the overturned SUV and moved it to the side of the roadway in order to improve traffic flow. At least two (2) other vehicles were damaged in the crash.
