He was last seen walking bearfoot in the area. Please stay away and DO NOT for any reason engage it. Contact the police department if it is acting aggressive.
Twp of Washington NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced that the recent report of a possible child abduction in the Township of Washington, NJ on Saturday, February 3, 2024, was determined not to be a criminal matter based on the results of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Acting Chief Matthew Finck and the Township of Washington Police Department under the direction of Chief John Calamari.

Be advised there will be a strict curfew on Cabbage/Mischief Night (October 30, 2023), as well as Halloween (October 31, 2023), of 9:00 PM, which is in accordance to Ordinance 184-1.
Twp. of Washington NJ, PASCACK ROAD PAVING INFORMATION – The milling and paving project is set to begin 8/28 and will be the entire length of Pascack Road from Linwood Avenue to Hillsdale Municipal Line/Ell Road. The hours of work will be 7 am to 5 pm.
The start date and the anticipated completion date are subject to change due to unforeseeable weather events.
Twp. of Washington NJ, PSE&G Gas Division will be installing a new gas main on Hudson Avenue from Manhattan Avenue, through the parking lot of town hall. Weather permitting, work is expected to begin on or about Monday June 26. The project is expected to last approximately 2-3 days. Construction will take place from approximately 7:30am – 6:00pm.
Twp. of Washington NJ, Cpl. Vincent Santa of the Washington Twp Police Department had the honor of facilitating a blood drive for one of our community heroes today, Shane McCooe who is battling cancer. Through this amazing donation process kids like Shane and others in need of blood transfusions will get the blood they need to help battle their illnesses. Shane is a huge football fan, specifically the Giants and was presented with signed memorabilia from Phil Simms, Saquon Barkley and Blake Costanzo along with gifts from our local PBA 206. Shane is the definition of a warrior at just seven years old and spreads joy just by being in his presence. Big thank you to Vitalant Blood Donations and PBA 206.
Twp. of Washington NJ, On Monday November 21st Washington Avenue will be closed to ALL traffic in both directions between Pascack Road and Jackson Avenue from 7am to 3pm. A detour route will be set up using Jackson Avenue and Manhattan Avenue.
Twp of Washington NJ, NJ State Senator Holly Schepisi reminds everyone, to stay vigilant. Certain crimes have seen a significant uptake in our communities and criminals are becoming bolder in their criminal acts. Just yesterday there was an armed carjacking in Washington Township at the intersection of Pascack and Ridgewood Roads. If anyone has any information please contact the Washington Township police department. Carjacking is a first-degree-plus crime and carries penalties including 10 to 30 years in prison, with a 5-year minimum period of parole ineligibility. (N.J. Stat. § 2C:15-2 (2020).
Twp. of Washington NJ, Passaic road was the scene of a reported gas leak near the Valley Bible Chapel (56 Pascack Rd) on Sunday night around 6pm . Township, Police ,Fire and Emergency services converged on the location along with PSE&G . Over the years their have been reports of gas leaks in the neighborhood . Several years ago PSE&G did some pretty extensive checking .
Ridgewood NJ, with crime targeting seniors on the raise, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella is pleased to announce a week-long senior citizen resource initiative titled, “We Care for Our Seniors” that was organized by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Community Engagement Division in partnership with the Bergen County Community Engagement Task Force. The initiative took place from Sunday, July 18 through Saturday, July 24, 2021.
The CETF is a network of Bergen County police officers who are focused on building firm and sustainable relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve through engagement. These officers host programs and initiatives intended to improve public safety, increase communication, share resources, and build trust.
Ridgewood NJ, Pursuant to legislation signed by Governor Phil Murphy in 2020, Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal today announced Directive 2021-5, and an accompanying Body Worn Camera Policy, requiring that all uniformed patrol officers be equipped with body worn cameras (“BWCs”), expanding the law’s mandate to additional officers, and ensuring appropriate use of BWCs.
