Ridgewood NJ, during the January 31st Village Council Budget Meeting, Councilwoman Siobhan Winograd reported that she’d been startled by a squirrel while shooting a video intended to highlight her recent assessment of alleged defective Village owned trash cans in the Central Business District. The squirrel allegedly jumped out of a trash can the Councilwoman was standing next to while videotaping herself. Ridgewood NJ, the Village council unanimously voted to give Heather a raise. Even though 4 of the five planned to oust her shortly thereafter. Did they give the raise in order to raise the base salary for the new manager?

Ridgewood NJ, the Village Council Meetings now have a hybrid format, with participants at remote locations, connecting to conferencing software provided by zoom.us or by telephone. Members of the public are invited to view meetings live using Zoom, which also allows them to “raise a hand” and contribute with voice and video when they are invited to do so during Public Comments, as well as during Public Hearings, during the meeting.

Ridgewood NJ, the bad news very simply is that our mayor controls who gets the opportunity to speak. If he sees a name on the queue list that he doesn’t like, he can bypass that individual. The public doesn’t get to see who is waiting in queue; only the mayor and his IT support employee can see the list. We suppose if you’re booted and complain, a mysterious technical difficulty will be offered up as an explanation.

Ridgewood NJ, Several days ago we informed you of a Facebook account being used by a Village Council member to communicate with residents about Village business/issues. We are pleased to report that a banner/logo associated with the previous of use of the account in an election campaign, has now been removed and replaced with a banner/logo more suited to its present use. However, we still don’t know if anyone is being blocked from viewing the account, or from making comments thereon.

Ridgewood NJ, immediately after her election, Winograd is painting a much different picture — one of dubious, straightforward deception. Pre-election Winograd promised a youth athletic field and walking path at Schedler Park. At the last Village Council Meeting, Post election Winograd announced her plan to level Schedler Park with a massive adult 90ft field, permanent lights and the largest netting possible.
