Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Deputy Mayor Pamela Perron fired off a cheap shot at critics of Peter Primavera, the Village’s Historic Preservation Consultant, when she chose to defend him at the close of Wednesday night’s Village Council Meeting, after all opportunities for public rebuttal had officially ended.

The Village of Ridgewood Has a New Police Chief

Ridgewood NJ, at the end of June, Chief Jacqueline Luthcke retired from our force after more than 25 years of service to Ridgewood.  Police Captain Forest “Cenzo” Lyons was sworn in as Chief and took over on July 1.  A member of our department for 21 years, with deep roots in Ridgewood .

Ethics violation? – Did Ridgewood Councilman (now mayor) use a private e-mail address to conduct official business?

Ridgewood NJ, Correspondence recently obtained via an Open Public Records Act request reveals that Ridgewood Mayor Paul Vagianos may have used a private e-mail address to initiate communication with Historic Preservation Specialist Peter Primavera in November of 2022. Mr. Vagianos was a Ridgewood Councilman at that time; he was appointed mayor in January of 2023. The correspondence, Mr. Primavera’s reply to the then Councilman’s request for information indicates an e-mail address provided by Mr. Vagianos was: [email protected].

In April Mr. Primavera outlined the scope of his proposed work for the Council after summarizing his educational background, professional credentials, and related work experience. At the time the Ridgewood blog reported on his dubious past which was ignored by the council .

Despite budget crunch, Ridgewood Village Council continues plan to purchase & develop vacant auto repair shop property

Ridgewood NJ, “No money; no money; no money!” “Forget about it!” “It isn’t going to happen this year!”

Those are the responses Ridgewood’s taxpayers pleading for safety improvements (e.g., sidewalks and a pedestrian bridge repair/replacement) have been getting from Village Council members for the past few months.

Spring is here and things are starting to green up in Ridgewood. With the warmer weather around the corner, preparations are being made for the return of the Pedestrian Plaza in our central business district beginning June 3. The Village is looking forward to a summer of welcoming families to Ridgewood Avenue to enjoy our local restaurants and shops, bringing foot traffic to the heart of our community.

After Massive Tax Increase the Village of Ridgewood Makes A Land Grab Next to the Schedler Property

Ridgewood NJ, the Village Council approved a plan for a large turf field at the Schedler property and is seeking to purchase adjacent property to expand the plan. This means clear cutting 8+ acres of native, mature trees and decimating an ecosystem.
