Readers may debate Village of Ridgewood Managers Effectiveness , but most agree Her opinion is of no importance to any discussion

Village_Manager_Roberta_Sonenfeld_theridgewoodblog

Far as I know there are five elected officials. I do not recall seeing Roberta’s name in the voting booth. Her opinion is of no importance to any discussion and I wish she would keep her mouth shut. There are two very obvious misogynists in the bunch – one wears his balding head for all to see and one covers his with a cheap rug. They have no use for women, none. If Roberta were not doing their calling, talking their talk, walking their walk, they would oust her instantly.

Roberta has no business………..NONE WHATSOEVER………..interjecting her opinion into anything. She takes sides and argues with the Council Majority and with residents. No, Sir Rurik, this is not about her being a woman. What a pitiful sidetrack you are trying to get on. Her double-X chromosome is not at issue here. What is at issue is that she is way way too big for her britches, so to speak. She thinks she is an elected official when she absolutely is not.

First Threats Now Physical Assaults Good Thing the Ridgewood has Far Higher Standards

Readers not happy with council response to unacceptable attacks of residents  :
Seriously, someone argues it is ok to knock a camera out of a person’s hands? Yes, no one should shove a camera in someone else’s face. But that is not what happened here. (And if it did, someone should have called the Police earlier.) Condoning and urging violence between Villagers cannot be viewed simply as the ravings of a self-styled curmudgeon. It is what we would expect to hear from a fascist who seeks to undermine democracy. Sadly, the comment personifies the mire into which we have been led by members of our Council.

This just in from Big Al – clearly he is running on defense. We know that Albert hates Dana, we heard him threaten Dana a few weeks ago, then we saw him join in a middle-school-boys’ bashing of Dana in cahoots with Aronsohn and Bob Fuhrman. Albert may claim that he does not want to outlaw taping, but he sure as hell does What he hates more than anything is that all of his nasty, inappropriate outbursts have been caught on tape by the Village cameras (and by other peoples cameras) and replayed over and over and over. It makes it impossible for him to escape the truth about himself, that his temper is unmanageable and flares up often and publicly. So read what Albert is saying here:

·If the reference in this article to an ordinance “introduced” at the January 27 Village Council meeting is referring to a draft ordinance that I circulated for comment, that ordinance does not purport to prohibit or restrict video or audio recording at Council meetings. It would require that participants at meetings that are not otherwise being recorded, such as a meeting of the Arts Council, be informed that the meeting is being recorded.
Albert Pucciarell

Reader says Delzio was standing with his foot inside the legs of Dana’s tripod. He had his face in Dana’s face. He was twisting his neck and putting his face in front of the camera lens. Dana was silently standing there with his camera, as he is entitled to do by law. He did not rise to the provocation of this aggressor at all. The only thing he did was take out his cell phone AFTER Delizio started cell-phone-taping HIM. Delzio was 100% aggressor and Dana was 100% passive, quiet, and orderly. You did not see what happened, and your wife sure as heck did not because her eyes were glued onto Jim Griffiths’ event. So your commentary is less than meaningless. You constantly criticize the blog, but you are posting based on the skewed report that your friend Gwenn gave you – and remember, GWENN STATED THAT SHE DID NOT SEE ANYTHING and that NO ONE SAW ANYTHING. Consider your source. Have some warm milk and go to bed.

Reader suggests a premeditated element to the Village Council Assault

Council meeting assult

If Mayor Paul does not issue an emphatic statement about this then I think the citizens should upraise. It is ridiculous that he allowed this to happen in a meeting that he chairs, he said nothing, he did nothing, he did not speak to Dana on the way out, he is such an obnoxious self-serving jerk. It is increasingly apparent that this whole event may have been in some way planned in order to make Dana look bad. Well, Sir Paul and Sir Albert, this did not happen. Instead you and your blondie gal Friday wound up looking like complete and total insensitive, uncivil idiots. There are simply not enough horrible adjectives to describe the three of you.

Ridgewood Council postpones vote on HealthBarn USA

Habernickel HealthBarn USA protest

THE RIDGEWOOD NEWS

RIDGEWOOD – Ridgewood’s Village Council members discussed the proposed addition of HealthBarn USA to the Irene Habernickel Family Park at the Feb. 3 meeting.

“I feel very strongly that it makes sense to have HealthBarn there,” said Mayor Paul Aronsohn. “I’m not just supportive of this program, I’m excited about it.”

The final decision on whether to approve HealthBarn moving onto the property was postponed to a later date during the Feb. 10 meeting, due to some of the council members wanting to see the business’ lease before deciding on anything.

The current plan is to have HealthBarn USA, a company that offers various outdoor activities to children, take up partial residence in the house on the Habernickel property, in exchange for payment to the village.

This does not sit well with local resident Margene Rubin, who said at the Feb. 3 meeting she feels the addition of HealthBarn to the property would make the area a less-enjoyable place to live.

“Everyone in that area that faces that field does not want (HealthBarn),” Rubin said, adding that HealthBarn founder Stacey Antine can “go someplace else” and not disrupt the neighborhood.

“It’s very upsetting,” said Rubin. “I really do encourage you to think about how many people this is upsetting,”

Available in stores, and online through UnReal, the limited edition tins and bags feature unique artwork designed by world-renowned illustrator Steve Simpson and are fun for all types of Valentines – friends, family, co-workers, and lovers, alike.
Ridgewood families to purchase at the Whole Foods Market store located at 44 Godwin Ave. UnReal, the unjunked food company, has partnered exclusively with Whole Foods Market stores to offer better-for-you alternatives to share with all types of Valentine’s this season – with 40% less sugar and no artificial ingredients. Whole Foods Ridgewood is also offering a free bag of candy coated milk chocolate gems with any e-store order placed by Friday, February 12th.

“The reason for giving Valentine’s Day chocolates is to celebrate those we love in a sweet way. The chocolates we give reflect our own values, so more of us want to give something that tastes delicious, but is not made with unhealthy ingredients or mass-produced. UnReal shows our real love by giving chocolates that taste unreal and are made without artificial ingredients, preservatives, GMO’s, or excess sugar,” said UnReal’s 18-year-old founder, Nicky Bronner.

UnReal is re-inventing America’s favorite candy using sustainably sourced, fair trade, non-GMO ingredients, and less sugar than their traditional counterparts. This Valentine’s Day, the company created two limited edition UNREAL LOVE tins. One features 16 ounces of red candy coated milk chocolate gems, made with organic cacao and dairy, without any artificial ingredients, and naturally colored with beetroot juice. The second tin features 16 rich, dark chocolate peanut butter cups. The price of each limited edition, UNREAL LOVE tin is $9.99. UnReal is also offering an 8-ounce bag of its red candy coated milk chocolate gems for $4.99. Both tins and the bags are available at all Whole Foods Markets in NY, NJ, CT, MA, NH, RI and ME.

Whole Foods Market Ridgewood and other NJ locations are also offering a free bag of candy coated milk chocolate gems with any e-store order placed by Friday, February 12th, including any of the floral offerings.

“UnReal has once again outdone themselves this holiday, creating an exciting and unique gift option for Valentine’s Day,” said Kimberley Rose, Vice President of Purchasing for Whole Foods Market’s North Atlantic region. “Between the beautiful, limited edition packaging and the delicious, high quality chocolates, what’s not to love? Pairing it with our double dozen roses is about as easy and fail-proof as Valentine’s gift giving can get!”

Village of Ridgewood Plans Parking Ticket Blitz to Fund Parking Garage on Hudson Street

parking_enforcement_theridgewoodblog

Walker study update

https://mods.ridgewoodnj.net/pdf/manager/20160203revwalker.pdf

•   Construction to start in May 2016, with the garage opening in February of 2017.

•   Non-resident permit rates adjusted to be the same as resident permit rates.

•   The first set of rate increases going into effect in July of 2016. These include extension of the

meter hours to 9 p.m. as well as increasing on-street meter rates in the core area to 75¢ per

hour.

•   The second set of increases – core meters to $1 and all other on- and off-street parking to

75¢ per hour – is projected to begin in February of 2017 when the garage opens.

•   It will be imperative that enforcement schedules are extended for the new meter hours and that enforcement is active. Weak enforcement will have a significant negative impact on the revenue stream from the extended meter hours; once people note that they never see people writing tickets in the evening and/or they “get away with it” once or twice, word will get out and the extended meter hours will not produce the level of revenue they should.

Ridgewood Residents are starting to think the Village has ” lost its Luster “

Clock CBD
January 31st 2016
the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, Sorry but the consensus is just that. The Village of Ridgewood is losing its allure. It’s a shame, so many people talking about moving because the town falling apart, crappy horrible water issues, not listening to its high tax paying residents, teacher issues, high density issues, parking issues.
The negatives of high taxes used to always be balanced out by great schools and a community that offered a lot of opportunities.

But with and increasing hostile council majority dead set in many residents opinions of destroying the very nature of the Village , with massive over development  residents are left to wonder what happened to their town. The village has simply turned into everything many residents were trying to get away from .

It’s a constant theme heard all around the Village , at cocktail parties, student activities and other social gatherings ; the Village has lost its luster. From harsh notices on an outstanding summons for “failure to comply with leaf removal requirements.”

Residents expresse frustration with a political process that ignores voters wishes as well as common sense .

Residents also feel harnessed and  ask themselves ,”What the hell is going on with all these tickets lately? 600 or so so we have been told . No comfort when the notice threatens to arrest you and revoke oury license if you dont respond with guilty and pay the $85, or not guilty and go to court.

New residents say , “our experience so far has us feeling an awful lot like generating revenue is more important than making sure we’re safe.”

To many the excessive use of ticketing sounds like a scam or typical New Jersey .Many residents complain that despite following the rules they were ticked anyway with no reasonable recourse . Contrary to the Deputy Mayor other people have jobs as well.

“Sorry to hear all those troubles, welcome to Ridgewood” is the now the new greeting in town.

Readers Question Ridgewood Waters Involvement in Snow Removal and Leaf Pick up

RidgewoodWaterLogo_061912_rn_tif_

It was also recently reported that the Village’s new code enforcement officer (Ms. Tracey Jeffrey) was observed on South Monroe Street driving a vehicle with Rigewood Water logo emblazoned on the door. However, I suppose that the argument could be used that enforcement of the leaf pick up rules impacts water quality.

I observed countless vehicles emblazoned with the Ridgewood Water emblem engaged in snow removal activities on Ridgewood streets following last week’s blizzard. So it appears as though there is some merit to the lawsuit.
