Glen Rock NJ, between 9 AM and 1 PM on Friday June 4th , the Glen Rock Police Department, in conjunction with the NJ State Motor Vehicle Commission, held a vehicle inspection check point along Maple Avenue at Harding Plaza. The operation is designed to remove dangerous vehicles from the road and promote safe driving practices. The checkpoint also had the added benefit of allowing 70 motorists, whose vehicles were due for inspection, to have their vehicles inspected free of charge with only a short wait.

Heated Dispute at the Wilde Park basketball Court in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police Patrols were dispatched to 9-1-1 reports of a heated dispute at the Wilde Park basketball court involving two large groups some of whom decided to arm themselves with baseball bats. The responding officers, assisted by reinforcements from the Ridgewood and Fair Lawn Police Departments, were eventually able to deescalate and disperse those involved. No injuries or property damage occurred, and no one present claimed to be a victim or requested any police assistance. Later it was reported that the conflict lasted about 10 minutes and NO Baseball bats were found .

Paramus NJ, the Paramus police have reported another black bear sighting, this time in the area of Ikea Drive, apparently the summer sale was too good to resist . “A non-aggressive black bear has been spotted in the area of Ikea Drive. If seen, please contact the police department and do not approach,” the department said on Twitter at 9:02 a.m.

Trenton NJ, The Republican members of the Senate Budget & Appropriations Committee responded to a revenue update from the Murphy administration showing a massive $5 billion increase in State revenues during FY 2021 and FY 2022, well beyond what legislators were told to expect. Combined with nearly $6.5 billion in federal relief funds sent to New Jersey, the Murphy administration now has $11.5 billion in cash and absolutely no plan to use it to help New Jersey.

Ridgewood NJ, At the conclusion of the Lemelson-MIT grant cycle, the RHS InvenTeam has accomplished so much, well beyond expectations, especially in a pandemic year. They successfully invented a 3-in-1 Solar Aqua-Tech water bottle that provides safe drinking water without chemicals leaving no chemicals and is entirely sustainable. The RHS InvenTeam also shared their invention journey at Super Science Saturday, a Board of Education meeting, a Ridgewood Town Council meeting, the NJ STEAM Tank Challenge, and most recently, to over 200 eighth-graders at the George Washington Middle School.
