Upper Saddle River Police Report three car burglaries and one stolen motor vehicle in broad daylight

Upper Saddle River NJ, during the past 36 hours, the Upper Saddle River Police Department has investigated three car burglaries and one stolen motor vehicle. We again would like to reiterate the importance of locking your cars and removing the key fobs.
Most importantly, a significant change in pattern occurred with the stolen vehicle incident. The crime was committed during the AFTERNOON HOURS. This is a major shift from previous incidents that all occurred during the overnight or early morning time frames. The perpetrators brazenly walked across a neighbor’s lawn, and drove off with the victim’s motor vehicle in broad daylight! Please be alert. Please be observant. Please report any suspicious activity to the Upper Saddle River Police Department. Do not confront these individuals! At the end of the day, it is just a car and not worth the risk of your personal safety.

Wild turkeys are extra aggressive during their breeding season!

Twp. of Washington NJ, the wild turkey is native to North America and can be found over most of the eastern two-thirds of the U.S. with small pockets along the west coast and in Mexico. Wild turkeys prefer relatively open hardwood and mixed evergreen hardwood forests with scattered openings. Some turkeys can be found in woodlots relatively close to human population centers. Despite their large size, wild turkeys (unlike their domestic relatives) are agile fliers and roost in trees. Wild turkeys are social birds and live in flocks. Wild turkeys are omnivorous and typically forage on the ground for acorns, nuts, seeds, berries, fruits, grasses, roots, insects, and small amphibians and reptiles. Wild Turkeys can be attracted to bird feeders.
