For years it’s been baked using a Dutch oven, but with the addition of the Bake Oven at HNBL, and has become our “control” for working this oven. What is most liked about it is that it’s nothing fancy, just honest and great eaten as a hunk pulled from the loaf. Slathered with butter or dunked in a stew, it makes a meal.

Waldwick NJ, a Waldwick Police patrol officer observed a stolen motorcycle traveling at 130 mph on Route 17 southbound late Saturday afternoon, 04/24, and pursed the bike and its adult male operator into Paramus, where heavy highway traffic forced the operator to exit onto West Ridgewood Avenue. A successful traffic stop was then initiated, and the operator was taken into custody. A tow truck was summoned to remove the impounded motorcycle from the roadway. No injuries were reported in the incident. Paramus Police officers assisted at the arrest scene until back up Waldwick Police units arrived.

Both had been found guilty in late 2017 of using taxpayer funds to further their own personal agendas with respect to a referendum vote on a proposed municipal parking garage.

Grewal announced that the payroll manager for a Bergen County construction company pleaded guilty today to demanding cash kickbacks from employees and failing to pay them for numerous hours of work to circumvent prevailing wage rules on public works projects. The company, UniMak, LLC, of Saddle Brook, N.J., entered into a non-prosecution agreement with the Attorney General’s Office last month under which it agreed to pay $1 million to seven employees who were cheated out of earned wages.
