River Edge NJ, Friday’s Fare from Historic New Bridge Landing Bake-Oven Bread Referred to as A Simple Bread in our recipe collection, this is Andrea’s go-to bread recipe that never fails and has satisfied many a reenactor. For years it’s been baked using a Dutch oven, but with the addition of the Bake Oven at HNBL, and has become our “control” for working this oven. What is most liked about it is that it’s nothing fancy, just honest and great eaten as a hunk pulled from the loaf. Slathered with butter or dunked in a stew, it makes a meal.

Twp. of Washington Ridgewood Road Closure Due to Paving April 26th

Twp. of Washington NJ, on Monday April 26th from approximately 8am to  3pm  Ridgewood Road  will be paved in the area of Chimney Ridge .During this time no vehicular traffic(except emergency services)  will not be allowed to enter or exit  Chimney Ridge.  All vehicles must be moved from Chimney Ridge prior to 8am and  residents may park their cars at Westwood High School starting on Sunday April 25th . Twp. of Washington Police officers will be on the scene to assist with any emergencies .

Waldwick Police Arrest Stolen Motorcycle Operator After He Was Clocked Traveling at 130 mph on Route 17

Waldwick NJ, a Waldwick Police patrol officer observed a stolen motorcycle traveling at 130 mph on Route 17 southbound late Saturday afternoon, 04/24, and pursed the bike and its adult male operator into Paramus, where heavy highway traffic forced the operator to exit onto West Ridgewood Avenue. A successful traffic stop was then initiated, and the operator was taken into custody. A tow truck was summoned to remove the impounded motorcycle from the roadway. No injuries were reported in the incident. Paramus Police officers assisted at the arrest scene until back up Waldwick Police units arrived.

Former Ridgewood Mayor and Former Village Manager Remain Guilty as Charged

Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood News has thus far refused to correct its misleading December 4, 2020 front page article which claimed that former Ridgewood mayor Paul Aronsohn and former Ridgewood Village Manager Roberta Sonenfeld were “cleared” of all ethics code violations by an administrative law judge.  Both had been found guilty in late 2017 of using taxpayer funds to further their own personal agendas with respect to a referendum vote on a proposed municipal parking garage.

Bergen Construction Company and State Contractor Payroll Manager Pleads Guilty In Employee Wage Fraud Scheme

Montvale NJ, Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal announced that the payroll manager for a Bergen County construction company pleaded guilty today to demanding cash kickbacks from employees and failing to pay them for numerous hours of work to circumvent prevailing wage rules on public works projects. The company, UniMak, LLC, of Saddle Brook, N.J., entered into a non-prosecution agreement with the Attorney General’s Office last month under which it agreed to pay $1 million to seven employees who were cheated out of earned wages.
