County Says “No” to Village of Ridgewood’s Grant Application to Purchase 510 West Saddle River Road

Ridgewood NJ, according to sources the Village of Ridgewood received phone notification  on Thursday from the County of Bergen that the Villages application for grant funds to purchase 510 West Saddle River Road  has been denied .Official written notice to follow.

Alpine NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of TYSEAN WARE (DOB: 1/08/2003; single; unemployed), currently incarcerated at Morris County Jail; DAVID CURETON (DOB: 2/02/2003; single; unemployed), currently incarcerated at Monmouth County Jail; OLAJAWAN DAVIS-FLEMING (DOB: 2/17/1996; single; unemployed) of 783 South 12th Street, Newark, NJ; KHYREE LAWRENCE (DOB: 12/02/2003; single; unemployed) of 26 Eaton Place, East Orange, NJ; SHAQUAN WHITE (DOB: 10/20/2002; single; unemployed) of 74 South 13th Street, Newark, NJ; and ALI HALL (DOB: 10/28/2001; single; unemployed) currently incarcerated at Essex County Jail, on charges of burglary, theft, attempted burglary, weapons offenses, receiving stolen property, terroristic threats, and conspiracy. The arrests are the result of an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

Paramus NJ, this is for families of students attending college in the Boston area. A local resident has reached out to “Our Bus” company to ask that they add a route from Boston directly to the Paramus Park and Ride on route 17. Please send an email to [email protected] and request the same if your child attends any of the Boston area schools. I’ve already received a response saying this is very doable. They just need enough requests to add the route.

“Everything Must Go” for Kmart in Westwood

Westwood NJ, Kmart is closing its last location in New Jersey . The chain’s Westwood location at 700 Broadway will close in the end of September or early October and already has signs noting that “everything must go” in the windows.

10 File Petitions to Run for Westwood Regional School District Board of Education

Westwood NJ,  four seats up for grabs include two three-year terms and a one-year unexpired term, all representing Washington Township, and another three-year term representing Westwood. Ten people will be running for four seats this November on the board of the Westwood Regional School District. The district serves about 2,800 students from the two towns.

Does the “Glen Rock” Need a Good Cleaning ?

Glen Rock NJ,  for those of you who are new to the area , there actually  a rock in Glen Rock . The 570-ton boulder was called Pamackapuka, by the  Lenape Native Americans and was used as a trail marker as well as a place to build signal fires. Pammackapuka translated means “stone from heaven” or “stone from the sky”.

Ridgewood NJ, congratulations to Ridgewood Emergency Services August member of the month Chris Canone. Chris recently received his National Registered EMT license, but has been a long standing member of Ridgewood Emergency Services. After months of EMT school, and riding as an Observer, he is excited to begin his journey as an official ambulance crew member.
Chris has always wanted to pursue a career in the medical field, and EMS is his first step in the healthcare direction. Congratulations again Chris, thank you for all that you do!

Alert Resident Spots Fire Condition in Neighbors Home in Wyckoff

Wyckoff NJ, at approximately 11:00 PM on 8/1, a resident of Drury Lane reported hearing a smoke alarm sounding from her neighbors house to the Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department .The resident also reported that they observed a smoke condition inside of the home.  Upon police arrival, a fire in the kitchen area was located. The Wyckoff Fire Department responded and quickly extinguished the fire.  The house was unoccupied at the time. No injuries were reported .Waldwick Fire Department also responded .

Stolen Dog Recovered after Joint Effort by New Jersey Transit Police and Multiple Law Enforcement Agencies

Bayonne NJ, this pictured pup, “Rocco” was recently taken off his owner’s front porch in Bayonne New Jersey. The owner was attending to yard work while Rocco was briefly out of sight. Several actors entered the property, detached the leash securing Rocco, took him and fled towards the NJ TRANSIT 45th Street Station.⁣
