Glen Rock Resident Gets Hit With “Hostage Scam”

Glen Rock NJ, on Thursday July 20th at 8:26 PM a Glen Rock resident reported to the Glen Rock Police that she was contacted by an unknown person who told her that he was holding her daughter hostage and demanded $5,000 to let her go, which is a common phone scam. The victim was able to contact her son to verify that her daughter was OK and did not lose any money as a result of the attempted scam.

Harrington Park Home Destroyed by Early Morning Fire

Harrington Park NJ, just after 5am this morning, the Harrington Park Volunteer Fire Department Battalion 2 North Box Alarm was activated for a reported house fire in the Borough. Units arrived on scene to find a fully involved house fire and a second alarm was struck. 24 Ladder was first due and immediately went to work with an aggressive exterior attack of the fire. The fire was placed under control an hour and a half later ,around 6:30am.

Missing Child at Graydon Pool in Ridgewood Turns Out to be False Alarm

Ridgewood NJ, on Saturday afternoon there was a report of a possible missing child at Graydon pool. The Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood Fire Department, as well as Ridgewood EMS, responded to Graydon pool for a possible unaccounted-for swimmer. The pool was cleared of all guests during the search. A search of the pool and investigation by the pool staff determined that all swimmers were accounted for.

Kasschau Memorial Shell 65th Season August Schedule

Ridgewood NJ, The 65th Anniversary Season of The Kasschau Memorial Shell at Veterans Field right behind the Ridgewood Public Library. The performances will continue on Tuesday and Thursday evenings through the beginning of August. The performance are free and open to the public. Please bring a chair or a blanket. To help fund the newest season of programming, the shell is running a community donation campaign with the goal of raising $25,000. Funds raised will be used to produce upcoming events, as well as the scholarship fund. Donations may be made on the Shell’s website: www.KasschauMemorialShell.com. All contributing donors will be recognized on the Kasschau Memorial Shell website, while donors that contribute $50 or more will be recognized on a donor wall that will be present at all concerts throughout the 2023 season. Come out and enjoy the music under the stars .
