Hasbrouck Heights NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 61-year-old LUIS ZHAGUI of Queens, NY on charges of sexual assault by sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department under the direction of Chief Joe Rinke.

Fire Fighters started their day at 5 am for smoke in an apartment off of Terrace Ave. Members around 1 pm responded to Burr Pl for a party pinned between a trailer and a staircase a 10-30 was transmitted and Wood-Ridge Rescue responded to the scene.

Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department Responds to Chemical Spill in Teterboro

Hasbrouck Heights NJ, around 730 pm  on Wednesday Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department responded to North Street in Teterboro for a chemical spill with one party injured. The injured party was removed by the department and turned over to be treated by EMS. Bergen County Hazmat assessed the scene and assisted with mitigation and cleanup.

Spotlight on First Responders: Hasbrouck Heights and Wood-Ridge Fire Departments

Hasbrouck Heights NJ, at approximately 9:30 pm on March 17th, the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department swiftly responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a rollover at the intersection of Route 17 S. and Williams Avenue. Upon arrival, Chief 60, Chief 61, and Chief 62 confirmed the rollover with entrapment. A 10–30 distress signal was transmitted, prompting mutual aid from the Wood-Ridge Fire Department. Crews from Squad 1, Engine 2, and the Rescue skillfully extricated the victim, who was then treated by EMS. Additionally, several handlines were deployed to address a significant fuel spill of gasoline and diesel. The Wood-Ridge Fire Department provided assistance on the scene and covered the Borough during the extended operation.

Chief 62 got on the scene and confirmed the accident with entrapment. Crews from Squad 1 extricated the patient and turned her over to Holy Name EMS to be evaluated. Wood-Ridge Fire Department and Hackensack Fire Department ’s Safety Chief assisted on the scene while Moonachie and Lodi Fire Departments covered the borough.

Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department Responds to Christmas Eve Smoke Condition at the Hilton Hotel

Hasbrouck Heights NJ,at 6 PM, Hasbrouck Heights Fire Chief 60, Chief 62, Engine 2, and Squad 1 responded to the Hilton hotel for a fire alarm activation. Chief 62 found smoke coming from the boiler room and transmitted a 10–30. Crews from Engine 2 located a minor fire in the ventilation pit and quickly knocked the fire with no extension. Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department offered a special thanks to the Wood-Ridge Fire Department for assisting at the scene.

Hasbrouck Heights Police Officer Hit With A Bottle Breaking Up an Underage Drinking Party

Hasbrouck Heights NJ, a Hasbrouck Heights Police officer was injured while breaking up a party of underage drinkers at a residence in the borough. The officer was responding to a noise complaint and ended up being injured during the situation. It’s clear from the statements made by Hasbrouck Heights Police Chief Joseph Rinke that the department takes this matter very seriously and is committed to prosecuting those responsible to the fullest extent of the law. Charges have already been filed against Mr. Joshua Daniels and Mrs. Cynthia Daniels for allowing underage alcohol consumption, and there are additional charges pending, including Aggravated Assault against a Police Officer and Criminal Mischief. The investigation is ongoing, and further legal actions may be taken based on its outcome.

Crash Closes Route 17 South Sunday Afternoon in Hasbrouck Heights

Hasbrouck Heights NJ, Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department members responded to Route 17 South by Ottawa Avenue for an MVA with several gallons of fluid leaking onto the roadway. HHPD had to shut down Route 17 South at Williams Avenue while the department and Bergen County Hazmat operated on the scene. The accident closed the south-bound side of the state highway from Williams Avenue to Franklin Avenue on Sunday afternoon adding to the already heavy Meadowlands traffic in the area at the time. Hasbrouck Heights Police were also the scene .

Spot Light On First Responders: Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department Six Runs in One Hour

Hasbrouck Heights NJ, within an hour on September 8th the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department responded to over six runs in the borough and Teterboro. In addition to several fire alarm runs, members responded to Teterboro for a fully involved vehicle fire with live wires down on top of it. Thankfully, there were no injuries and Mutual aid was provided by the Little Ferry Fire Department who assisted on the scene.
