Paramus NJ, An unknown number of children sustained minor injuries when a Paramus Board of Education owned & operated school bus collided with a Mercedes SUV at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and Highland Avenue, Paramus, at approximately 0840 hours on Monday, 02/06. The bus was en route to the Parkway Elementary School on East Ridgewood Avenue, Paramus, at the time of the crash. Paramus Police and Paramus EMS units responded immediately to 911 telephone calls reporting the incident. As a safety precaution, no students were removed from the school bus at the scene (busy intersection). The bus instead continued to the school (less than 1/2 mile away), where injured students were taken to the nurse’s office for evaluation. An ambulance and EMS Supervisor’s vehicle, along with numerous police vehicles, were observed parked in front of the school following the bus’ arrival there. Police at the crash scene did not indicate if any summonses were issued to either driver.
UPDATE: Paramus Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg has reported that the Mercedes driver was issued three (3) summonses: Careless Driving, Reckless Driving, and Failure to stop for a red light. The Mercedes sustained moderate front end damage; a safety device was ripped from the school bus’ front bumper and recovered from the Mercedes’ front right fender by Paramus PD Emergency Services Unit officers.

Paramus NJ, an investigation into whether the Paramus borough administrator’s used municipal workers to fix his personal vehicle has concluded. Paramus officials remain tight-lipped about the conclusions. The Paramus Borough Council ordered the probe into Administrator Hector Olmo’s activities in September after Councilwoman MariaElena Bellinger said she had heard that town employees might have been asked to repair his car.

Paramus NJ, Bed Bath and Beyond is shutting down all of its Harmon stores , just weeks after announcing a possible bankruptcy filing. The company confirmed plans to shutter its last 50 Harmon Face Values stores across the country. Exact dates for store closings have yet to be announced.

Paramus NJ, recently a couple of pedestrian signs were installed at 650 From road Paramus, near Marriott Fairfield Inn .These low signs which were installed to protect pedestrians could very well cause an accident because they block vision between bicyclists, motorists and pedestrians. Hope you will inform proper authorities of low signs and prevent an accident just like the sign at Maple and Marshall street in Ridgewood which was moved up a few feet after a cyclist / pedestrian accident.

Paramus NJ, Paramus Police Emergency Services Unit officers were forced to break the rear driver’s side window of a GMC SUV to free its unconscious driver after the vehicle careened off of Route 17 southbound on Sunday morning, and crashed into the parking lot of a Starbucks restaurant. A medical episode may have triggered the crash. The driver was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus by a Paramus EMS ambulance. A flatbed tow truck removed the SUV from its predicament.

Paramus NJ, two (2) non life threatening injuries were reported following a early Saturday afternoon, 01/14, collision between a dump truck and an SUV at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and Forest Avenue in Paramus. Following impact, the dump truck careened off the roadway onto the front lawn of a nearby single family home. Separate ambulances transported the victims to a local hospital. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by a pair of flatbed tow trucks. Paramus Police Department, Paramus Fire Department, and Paramus EMS personnel and equipment responded to the incident.

Paramus NJ, Tesla’s latest slate of price cuts is a sign the company is getting more aggressive as competition heats up in electric vehicles, according to Wedbush analyst Dan Ives. Prices of the Model 3 and Model Y were slashed on Thursday, with discounts ranging from 6% to 20%.

Paramus NJ, no serious injuries were reported in the early Friday afternoon, 01/13, crash of mini school bus at mile marker 164.8 southbound on the Garden State Parkway in Paramus. The vehicle had been traveling north on the busy highway, but veered to the left, off of the paved roadway when its driver swerved to avoid another vehicle. It then careened across a grass center median & all southbound travel lanes, and came to rest on the southbound, right side grass shoulder. A series of injury-free, chain reaction, crashes on the Parkway’s northbound side occurred immediately after the mini bus careened off of the highway. Two (2) mini bus occupants were transported by ambulance to a local hospital; injuries were reported to have been non-life threatening in nature. The mini school bus was driven off of Parkway property by a tow truck driver and parked at a nearby hotel. A dozen or so occupants (students and teachers) were transported to the Paramus Park shopping mall to safely await repair of the bus, or the arrival of alternate transportation. Paramus NJ, the Barnes & Noble on Route 17 in Paramus will be shutting its doors on February 11th, 2023 after 28 years, the landlord did not renew the lease at the site. The company explained that it wants to serve the Paramus community for “many, many more years.” and that Barnes & Noble is “doing everything” it can to find a replacement site with hopes to “return close to here with a new bookstore before long.”

Paramus NJ, Bed Bath & Beyond said it might not be able to continue as a going concern, bringing another US retail chain to the precipice of bankruptcy and potentially placing tens of thousands of employees at risk. The news comes less than a day after Amazon said it was firing more than 18,000 employees—8,000 more than expected—the biggest wave of terminations in its history.

Ridgewood NJ, a traffic light at the intersection of Paramus Road and Grove Street, Paramus was wiped out during a multi-vehicle collision at the very busy intersection early Wednesday afternoon, 01/04. No injuries were reported by the two (2) SUV drivers involved in the crash, nor by the driver, nor any passengers, on a NJ Transit bus that also appeared to have been involved in the incident. One (1) SUV was driven from the scene on its own power, the other was towed. Damage to the bus was apparently minimal. Paramus Police was assisted at the scene by a road patrol officer from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office.
