Wild Stolen Car Chase in Paramus Leads to Multiple Arrests leaving Two Police Cruisers Heavily Damaged

Paramus NJ, Paramus Police captured at least four (4) occupants of a BMW sedan that crashed in the rear of a Pleasant Avenue, Paramus business while being pursued by several Paramus patrol vehicles on Monday morning, 09/05. Two (2) Paramus police cruisers were heavily damaged during the pursuit; they were both removed by flatbed tow trucks. The BMW sedan was also damaged and towed away. An ambulance transported one (1) individual involved in the pursuit to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus with non life threatening injuries. Rochelle Park Police assisted in the transport of prisoners to Paramus Police Department headquarters.

Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus ,Again the Target of “Swatting”

Paramus NJ, for the third time this summer Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus was the scene of a “swatting” incident . Swatting is a criminal harassment tactic of deceiving an emergency service (via such means as hoaxing an emergency services dispatcher) into sending a police or emergency service response team to another person’s address. This is triggered by false reporting of a serious law enforcement emergency, such as a bomb threat, murder, hostage situation, or a false report of a mental health emergency, such as reporting that a person is allegedly suicidal or homicidal and may or may not be armed, among other things.

Motor Trike Crash Takes Out Traffic Light on West Century Road in Paramus

Paramus NJ, the adult male operator of a motor trike (a 3-wheeled motorcycle) sustained a serious leg injury during a Friday morning, 08/12, single vehicle crash in the 100 block of West Century Road in Paramus. A traffic light at the driveway entrance to The Frisch School and Country Club Plaza office complex was downed when the motor trike plowed into it. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Borough of Paramus Public Works Department employees began the process of repairing and re-erecting the downed traffic light shortly after the victim was removed from the scene by ambulance. A flatbed tow truck removed the damaged vehicle from the scene.

Volunteers Needed for 122nd U.S. Amateur Championship PRACTICE ROUNDS August 13th & 14th

Paramus NJ, as previously announced, the 122nd U.S. Amateur Golf Championship is coming to Ridgewood Country Club and Arcola Country Club this month and volunteers are needed for the practice rounds on Saturday and Sunday, August 13-14 to work as course marshals and forecaddies. This event will be an outstanding opportunity for spectators to see the world’s best amateur golfers in action, and this will be particularly true for course volunteers. No spectators will be allowed for the practice rounds – volunteers are the only ones who will have access.

Paramus NJ, Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco III along with the Board of County Commissioners and Bergen County Clerk John S. Hogan recently celebrated the installation of two new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the County Annex facility in Paramus. The two stations are the first of ten anticipated charging stations that will be designated specifically for County vehicles as the fleet continues to transition to alternative fuel options.

Paramus NJ, early on the morning of July 25th  a 36″ water transmission line in Spring Valley Road near the entrance to Panera Bread/Kohl’s failed. Residents in the area experienced slightly below normal water pressure. There was no boil water advisory at this time. Repairs rapidly started . The Road was closed .
