Ridgewood NJ, two (2) high end SUVs collided in the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and South Van Dien Avenue, Ridgewood early Monday afternoon, 05/01. One (1) of the drivers sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene. Both vehicles were towed away. Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood Fire department responded to the incident. No word at the scene as to whether any crash related summonses were issued.

Begging the question once again is why does Ridgewood have and engineering department ?

Ridgewood Mayor and Subordinates Continue to Suppress Public Input

Ridgewood NJ, it is unbelievable that Vagianos and Winograd are doing everything in their power to control the message, squash public comments, ignore the people who they are elected to serve. From censoring (hiding? blocking?) comments on their official Facebook pages, to trying to stop the display of signs at meetings, also cutting off public comments at meetings, stopping (or trying to) residents from naming council members by name, Winograd participating in a highly censored and controlled Facebook group, Vagianos stalling on legal OPRA request fulfillments – the list goes on and on. And Vagianos scolds everyone before public comments even commence – telling them that they have to be civil and so on. That is like yelling at your kids when they have not done anything wrong, just in case they MIGHT do something wrong. We are entitled to FREE AND OPEN speech as long as threats and vulgarity are not part of it. What are they thinking?

UPDATE: Banking Kerfuffle: First Republic Shares Dropped Sharply Friday Rattling the Market

Ridgewood NJ, shares of First Republic dropped sharply Friday as hopes dimmed for a rescue deal that could keep the bank afloat. First Republic Bank shares fell a whopping 43% in regular trading. Then, as a news report foretold a potential future in receivership for the ailing California lender, its shares collapsed again. US officials have been coordinating talks to rescue First Republic, with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., the Treasury Department and Federal Reserve said to be orchestrating meetings about throwing it a lifeline. But some of the biggest US banks, which have already contributed $30 billion in deposits to prop up First Republic, have balked at the prospect of throwing good money after bad.

Ridgewood NJ, National Small Business Week is approaching and many employers still struggling to hire new workers, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2023’s Best Small Cities to Start a Business. No surprise the Village of Ridgewood with it’s very high costs came in 7th worst in the entire country at number 1328 (out of 1334) . In overall business environment the Village placed 955 and in Business costs 1310 .

Driver Injured in an Early Friday Evening Crash on Lakeview Drive in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, the adult driver of a late model Chevrolet Trax was injured in an early Friday evening, 04/28 crash involving a tree in the 200 block of Lakeview Drive, Ridgewood. The victim was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Ridgewood EMTs. Ridgewood Police also responded to the incident. A tow truck removed the wrecked subcompact from the scene.

Ridgewood NJ, are the the smartest person in Ridgewood? Prove it! Ridgewood Emergency Services with Joe Trivia is hosting Trivia Night to kick off EMS Week. Event is located at 131 North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood NJ 07450, 1st floor in Village Hall in the Youth Center. Doors open at 6:15pm, Trivia will begin at 7:00pm. Must have tickets to enter. Limited availability. This event is funded by F.O.R.E.S.T.
