“According to the latest mailing, “Ridgewood Water has been aware of PFOA and PFOS detections and has sought to educate our customers for years…” So shame on me that I finally realized that we have been paying to be poisoned. We have been and will be forced to pay this Village owned company for its contaminated and unsafe water.”

Ridgewood Water is Once Again in Violation of Two New Jersey Drinking Water Standards

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Water is once again in violation of two New Jersey drinking water standards . Ridgewood Water exceeded the PFOS at 13 parts per trillion and PFOA at 14 parts per trillion mandated MCL safety limit. An MCL is the highest allowable concentration of a contaminant in water delivered to a user of a public drinking water supply. (Milligrams per liter)MCLs apply to public water systems, including public community and public nontransient noncommunity water systems. Public community and public nontransient noncommunity water systems are required to routinely monitor for contaminants for which MCLs have been established and to take any action necessary to bring the water into compliance with an MCL.

Sunday Night Crash in Ridgewood’s Central Business District Sends One to The Valley Hospital

Ridgewood NJ, one (1) summons was issued in connection with a two (2) vehicle crash at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and North Walnut Street, Ridgewood on Sunday evening, 01/02. Ridgewood firefighters used hydraulic tools to extricate an adult female passenger of a minivan involved in the collision. The victim was transported to The Valley Hospital by Ridgewood EMS. A crash related fluid spill was also attended to by Ridgewood Fire Department. Both vehicles involved in the crash appear to have been totaled and were removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Ridgewood Police Patrol Division handled the crash investigation.

Ridgewood NJ, Village of Ridgewood up-dates for January 1st 2022:

Beginning January 1, 2022, each household is limited to putting out a maximum of 7 items on bulk pickup day. This will reduce the amount of bulk refuse being put into the landfills, which will save the Village money.  We request that you consider donating useable items to a non-profit or charity.  One person’s trash is another person’s treasure.  If you have more than 7 items to be picked up, you may request a special pick up from the Village, by calling 201-670-5579.  An extra fee will be charged for the special pick up, per Village ordinance.

Americans Rate 2021 One of the Worst Years Ever!

Ridgewood NJ, It’s New Year’s Eve and Americans are ready to say good-bye and good riddance to 2021.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that only two percent (2%) of American Adults rate 2021 one of the best years ever. Another five percent (5%) think it was an excellent year and 16% rate 2021 a good year. These numbers are dwarfed by the 48% of Americans who give 2021 a poor rating. Most Voters Give Biden ‘Poor’ Rating on Crime, Immigration

Ridgewood NJ, President Joe Biden is doing a poor job on both immigration and crime, according to a majority of voters.

A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports finds that only 31% of Likely U.S. voters rate Biden excellent or good for his handling of crime and law enforcement issues. That’s down from 34% in July. Fifty-one percent (51%) give Biden a poor rating for his handling of crime, up from 48% in July. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
