Most Voters Give Biden ‘Poor’ Rating on Crime, Immigration

Ridgewood NJ, President Joe Biden is doing a poor job on both immigration and crime, according to a majority of voters.

A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports finds that only 31% of Likely U.S. voters rate Biden excellent or good for his handling of crime and law enforcement issues. That’s down from 34% in July. Fifty-one percent (51%) give Biden a poor rating for his handling of crime, up from 48% in July. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

NJ Minimum Wage to Rise to $12/Hour for Most Employees on January 1st

New Bulk Pickup Rules Go into Effect in the Village of Ridgewood on January 1st

Ridgewood NJ, beginning January 1, 2022, each household is limited to putting out a maximum of 7 items on bulk pickup day. This will reduce the amount of bulk refuse being put into the landfills, which will save the Village money.  We request that you consider donating usable items to a non-profit or charity.  One person’s trash is another person’s treasure.  If you have more than 7 items to be picked up, you may request a special pick up from the Village, by calling 201-670-5579.  An extra fee will be charged for the special pick up, per Village ordinance.

Christmas Tree Pickup in Ridgewood Begins on January 4th

Ridgewood NJ, Christmas Tree Pickup – The Parks Division will be picking up Christmas trees, with a Tuesday/Eastside and Thursday/Westside pattern with trees being picked up on the Eastside of the Village curbside, not in the street on Tuesdays, January 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th. Trees will then be picked up on the Westside of the Village curbside, not in the street on Thursdays, January 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th. Please remove all ornaments and lights from the Christmas trees and do not place the tree in a plastic bag.

Ridgewood Police Assist Glen Rock Police to Locate 90-year-old Woman Suffering from Alzheimer’s

Glen Rock NJ, on Wednesday November 17th at 1:18 PM  Glen Rock PO Matt Stanislao received a report of a 90-year-old woman suffering from Alzheimer’s who had wandered off from a family member’s home. With the assistance of the Ridgewood Police Department, the woman was located on Godwin Avenue and subsequently reunited with her family members.
