Westwood School Board Tells Teachers You Need Approval Before Classroom Discussions of Any “controversial issues”

Westwood NJ, in an effort to reassert the rights of parents , the Westwood Regional School District board has voted to require superintendent approval for classroom discussions of any “controversial issues” not specified in the district curriculum, clamping down on teachers politicizing classrooms but drawing criticism from those who warned that the change will stifle conversations about real-world topics.

Teen Crashes Tesla Through Fence Tumbles Down Stream Embankment in Westwood

Westwood NJ, an 18-year-old driver crashed through a chain link fence and down a stream embankment after losing control of her Tesla sedan at the intersection of Mill Street and 1st Avenue, in Westwood late Tuesday afternoon, 05/23. Neither the driver nor her two (2) male passengers were injured in the mishap. Two (2) tow trucks were involved in recovering the white colored Tesla from its predicament. Westwood Police responded to the incident along with a Hillsdale EMS ambulance.

Westwood Regional School District Addresses Swastika Found Outside Brookside Elementary School

Westwood NJ, according to school officials ,Westwood Regional School District will reassess its policy on bias incidents, after a swastika was found earlier this month outside Brookside Elementary School in Westwood . The incident was brought up by parents at Monday night’s school board meeting, the first since the hate symbol was found fashioned out of twigs on the school grounds on March 13th.

Westwood Senior Charged Desecrating Human Remains and Aggravated Assault on Police Officers

Westwood NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of MARK WINTERS (DOB: 1/6/1947; single; unemployed) of 25 Kennedy Terrace, Westwood, NJ for desecrating human remains and aggravated assault on law enforcement officers. The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Westwood Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Pontillo.

Westwood NJ, Yesterday January 9th , was Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Between December 31, 2021 and December 31, 2022 – 61 officers were killed, nationwide, in the line of duty. 58 were intentionally shot. 3 were killed by cars used as deadly weapons. 34 were killed answering 911 calls and 23 answering domestic disturbances. 35 were killed in set-up ambushes.55 of the 61 were murdered by perpetrators who were either in the midst of committing crimes; or who were wanted criminals with outstanding warrants.
