FREE PARKING IN RIDGEWOOD PARKING LOTS AND HUDSON STREET GARAGE ON DECEMBER 5th, 12th, and 19th

Ridgewood NJ, The Village Council has approved free parking, with a 3-hour limit, in all parking lots in the Central Business District and in the Hudson Street Garage, on the Saturdays leading up to Christmas, December 5th, 12th, and 19th.  Please be aware that the parking area at the intersection of Broad Street and East Ridgewood Avenue (where the Christmas tree is located) and the parking area on the west side, with the entrance by MacMurphy’s Restaurant, are not considered parking lots, and you must pay to park in these locations.  The main parking lot at the train station (with the majority of the parking spaces), going into the parking lot from the traffic light and turning left, is free parking.  In addition, if you park on the streets, you must pay to park.

Small Business Saturday More Important Than Ever This Year

Ridgewood Businesses and Eateries Sign Pledge to Adhere to the CDC Guidelines

Ridgewood NJ, The Welcome Back to Ridgewood, NJ Event, which creates a pedestrian mall between Broad Street and Walnut Street, will take place this weekend, November 21st and 22nd.  Retail businesses place their products on tables and eateries have outdoor dining on the streets in front of their businesses.  In addition, on the west side of the Central Business District, Ridgewood’s West Village, has many unique stores and eateries.  We encourage you to visit us to enjoy our local shops and eateries during the warmer weather this weekend.  All of our businesses and eateries have signed a pledge to adhere to the CDC guidelines, so customers can shop and dine with confidence in Ridgewood’s Central Business District.  Masks are strongly encouraged at this event and are always required to enter any businesses.  The Welcome Back to Ridgewood, NJ Event will not take place on November 28th and 29th.

Village of Ridgewood Revises “Downtown for the Holiday” Event

Ridgewood NJ, The Village of Ridgewood’s Downtown for the Holidays event has a revised plan, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The current plan is subject to change, based on  what occurs with the COVID-19 pandemic in the coming weeks. The event will be held on December 4, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  The streets will not be closed down, so there will be no fire truck or trackless train.

Ridgewood Central Business District offers 15-minute complimentary parking spaces

Ridgewood NJ, The Central Business District will has several 15-minute complimentary parking spaces on Oak Street, Chestnut Street, North Broad Street, off of East Ridgewood Avenue, and Wilsey Square on the west side. These parking spaces are limited to 15 minutes only, are free of charge to everyone, and are to be used to do a quick errand or pick up food or visit a business. Please be advised that if you are parked in these spaces longer than 15 minutes, you may receive a parking summons. These spaces have been generously sponsored by several local businesses, which are acknowledged on the 15-minute parking signs. We encourage you to stay longer in the Central Business District by parking in one of our many lots or the Hudson Street parking garage (at $1/hour), and there is also on-street parking available (at $1.25/hour).

Unstable Homeless Man Arrested Again in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, once again Ridgewood Police arrest the homeless man who has at time terrorized the central business district . The Ridgewood blog has reported for months on  the deification, harassment , lude  and violent behavior of this individual . The Ridgewood police department has patiently dealt with him for months , arresting him on several occasions . This individual has clearly demonstrated that he is both the threat to public safety and a danger to himself .

The Village of Ridgewood Gears Up for the Annual “Downtown for the Holidays”

Ridgewood NJ, The Village of Ridgewood will be holding a Downtown for the Holidays event this year, which will be in keeping with COVID-19 restrictions. Social distancing and face masks will be required. The event will be held on December 4, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., when East Ridgewood Avenue will be closed from Maple Avenue to Broad Street, creating a pedestrian mall. The Village Christmas tree, at the corner of East Ridgewood Avenue and Broad Street, will be glowing with lights, the trees in Memorial Park at Van Neste Square and at Station Plaza will be decorated with festive ornaments donated by residents, businesses, groups, and organizations; there will be a trackless train for the kids to ride; a Kid’s Corner with a drawing to take home and submit for a prize; music throughout the area by various groups; mimes in store windows; and a decorated fire truck. Santa Claus and The Grinch will also be appearing on various rooftops throughout the Central Business District, see if you can find them! Our stores and eateries welcome you as we all join together, to start the holiday season!

Trenton NJ, Governor Phil Murphy Imposes New Restaurant, Sports Restrictions. Directly impacting Village restaurants. All restaurants must close indoor premises by 10 p.m. cannot and cannot reopen until 5 p.m., effective Thursday, Nov. 12th. Outdoor dining can continue past 10 p.m., as can takeout and delivery service,  and heated dining bubbles will be allowed, according to Governor Phil Murphy, who addressed the media this afternoon at the War Memorial in Trenton.
