The new Coronavirus has created a global pandemic, making hundreds of thousands of people sick and taking a toll mercilessly. Believed to have originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, this virus, medical experts say can return seasonally, just like the common flu.
With vaccine trials still underway, we do not precisely know when it will be ready for deployment. As scientists suggest, a vaccine might be ready in another 12-18 months and that is way too far! So, should the coronavirus return, countries should be ready to deal with it effectively.

TRENTON NJ, Governor Phil Murphy and Superintendent of the State Police Colonel Patrick Callahan today announced an Administrative Order authorizing in-person sales to resume at car dealerships, motorcycle dealerships, boat dealerships, and bike shops, by appointment only and with social distancing measures in place. Soul Korea, The Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Korean CDC) reported findings from a study of recovered COVID-19 patients who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 after their recovery. The study aimed to determine whether the positive test results after recovery—as long as 37 days after discharge from isolation—were artifacts of testing or due to reinfection or reactivation of the virus. The study concluded that the re-positive test results were not due to reinfection or reactivation, but rather, were a result of the PCR diagnostic tests detecting non-viable viral particles as the infection is slowly cleared from the body. These results indicate that individuals who have recovered from acute illness can no longer infect others. As such, the Korean CDC updated its guidance regarding the management of “re-positive cases,” including the removal of a mandatory 14-day self isolation period after being discharged from isolation and the requirement for subsequent PCR testing if symptoms present after a patient is discharged from isolation.
Ridgewood NJ, COVID-19 is thought to spread mainly through close contact from person-to-person. Some people without symptoms may be able to spread the virus. We are still learning about how the virus spreads and the severity of illness it causes.
I have been getting calls from small business owners all over the State of New Jersey who have been contacted by police enforcing Governor Murphy’s “Stay At Home” Executive Orders regarding COVID-19, and have otherwise been financially devastated. These Orders were initially handed down 2 months ago by Governor Murphy for the alleged purpose of “flattening the curve,” in other words, preventing hospitals and health care services from being overwhelmed by everyone getting the virus all at once. That mission has since been accomplished because we all worked together in good faith to make it happen. Now, Gov. Murphy has moved the goalpost to “finding a vaccine.”
In my opinion, as an attorney and business owner, there is no longer any justification for denying people their Constitutional rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It’s time to #ReopenNJ and let people feed their families again.

River Vale NJ, Assemblywomen Holly Schepisi comments on the Murphy Administration manipulation of Long Term Care COVID-19 death totals. According to Schepisi ,”1400 deaths have been removed by the State of N.J. between yesterday and today from the total number of COVID deaths from our Long Term Care Facilities because although the deaths appeared to be COVID caused deaths they were never lab confirmed by the facilities.
But even worse, the State is continuing to count these deaths in the overall State total! Today’s total death count was just reported as 10,586 deaths with 162 new deaths. Yesterday’s total death count was 10,435 deaths with 75 new deaths. Friday’s death count was 10,138 deaths. How do we continue to have 10,586 total deaths if we have subtracted out 1400 in the past 24 hours? If DATA DETERMINES DATES the data better make sense.”

Ridgewood NJ, Dr. Fishbein shared that we will be surveying parents (K-12), students (6-12), and the staff to get feedback on remote learning. He added that we will have the extended school year for those students who qualify, and we are also looking at the enrichment program. At this time, we have not received guidance from the state regarding whether instruction should be done remotely or in-person; therefore, we are planning to move forward with a remote plan for the summer. Furthermore, we will be evaluating students early in the next school year to determine what gaps may have occurred, and a plan will be in place to catch students up by the end of 2021.
