Ridgewood East Side Accident Sends Victim to Hackensack University Center Hospital

Ridgewood NJ,  the Ridgewood Police are currently conducting an investigation into the exact circumstances of a Thursday evening, 05/14, single vehicle crash of an SUV on Henrietta Court, Ridgewood, in which the front driver’s side door was almost ripped from the vehicle, and its adult female driver was found lying in the street with serious injuries. The victim was transported by a Ridgewood EMS ambulance to Hackensack University Center’s main campus. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Ridgewood EMTs with patient evaluation and transport. Washington Township Police also assisted at the scene as did members of Ridgewood Fire Department Engine Company #35.

“Coronavirus Relief Bonds,” coming to a town near you

Ridgewood NJ, Legislation establishing a new financing mechanism to enable local units to borrow money through the issuance of “coronavirus relief bonds,” was among numerous measures approved by the full Assembly 56-20-4 on Thursday to help mitigate the effects of the pandemic in the state.

The bill (A-3971) is sponsored by Assembly members Daniel Benson (D- Mercer, Middlesex), Speaker Craig Coughlin (D-Middlesex) and Wayne DeAngelo (D-Mercer, Middlesex).

Hackensack NJ,Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of FABIO CAMPOS AZOFEIFA (DOB: 08/02/1972; single; laborer) of 530 River Street, Paterson, NJ on charges of Vehicular Homicide and Leaving The Scene Of A Motor Vehicle Accident. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, and the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer in Charge Peter Busciglio.

State of New Jersey April Tax Revenues Plummet Nearly 60 Percent

Trenton NJ, The NJ Department of the Treasury reported today that April revenue collections for the major taxes totaled $2.345 billion, down an unprecedented $3.5 billion, or 59.7 percent, below last April as the economic impact of the global pandemic begins to take its toll on the State’s finances.  Fiscal year-to-date total collections, which had been running ahead of last year through the end of March, are now at $24.743 billion, down $2.2 billion, or 8.1 percent below the same period last year.

U.S. Secret Service Arrests Teaneck Man Charged in Large-Scale Identity Theft

Teaneck NJ, A Bergen County man was arrested today for his alleged role in a large-scale fraudulent credit card and fake identification making operation, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.

Michael Fulcher, 35, of Teaneck, New Jersey, was arrested this morning by special agents of the U.S. Secret Service and charged by complaint with one count each of possession of 15 or more counterfeit access devices, possession of access device-making equipment, and aggravated identity theft. He appeared by teleconference today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Cathy L. Waldor and released on $100,000 unsecured bond.

Ridgewood Emergency Services Lends Assistance at Route 208 Sink Hole

Glen Rock NJ,  according to the Glen Rock Police on Tuesday evening around 7pm a large and deep sink hole developed on route 2008 south bound closing all but on e lane .Ridgewood Emergency Services Volunteers were out on Route 208 this evening assisting Fair Lawn Police and Glen Rock Police with traffic management. Emergency Services members are trained in the use of signing, cones along with the use of a high visibility display board mounted on the trucks to alert drivers. High visibility white lights provide safe working conditions for those on the scene. Emergency Services can be on the scene within minutes of being requested. This rapid response promotes safety on the roadway for all.

Ridgewood NJ,  As part of New Jersey’s Road Back, Governor Phil Murphy today signed Executive Order No. 142, permitting the resumption of non-essential construction, curbside pickup at non-essential retail businesses, and car gatherings for the purpose of drive-through and drive-in events. The construction and non-essential retail provisions will take effect at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, while the car gatherings provision will take effect immediately.

Class of 2020 Should Be Allowed to Walk at Graduation

Ridgewood NJ, Senator Kristin Corrado is requesting that local high school graduates be able to walk at outdoor convocation ceremonies.

“Many high school graduations are a month away. We can and should start planning to ensure the Class of 2020 can walk together while practicing safe social distancing,” said Corrado (R-40). “Our high school seniors have been stripped of their final academic semester, proms, and precious memories with their classmates. The least we can do is allow them to commemorate this milestone in person, responsibly.
