State law prohibits formation of committees without prior BOE approval. No such approval was obtained by Mr. Lembo, said the speaker.

Ridgewood NJ, The recent troubles in the Mideast have hit very close to home and so many friends and neighbors have been affected . Imam Mahmoud Hamza and Rabbi Fine led a group of religious leaders and some local elected local officials from the Ridgewood Board of Education and the Village Council in a vigil and press conference bringing together Jewish and Muslim residents in a unified stance of peace and unity. The vigil was keep small and just about neighbors . Imam Mahmoud Hamza said ,”We hope that this message of peace and unity will reverberate in our community and we can be an example to others”

Ridgewood NJ, on November 7th the Village has to make some decisions as to the direction of the Ridgewood school system . The choice is clear either the residents opt for a school district run for the benefit of the teachers union and give over control of their children to the NJEA and their enforcers or residents put children and their education first .

Ridgewood NJ, in Virginia, a judge made the correct decision to disqualify a school board candidate because she gave the wrong address on her ballot paperwork. The Fairfax County Office of Elections has informed voters on its website that Marcia St. John-Cunning was disqualified on Wednesday by a court order from the Fairfax County Circuit Court. The judge decided that her petition was not valid due to an address mistake on the front page.

Ridgewood NJ, the Ethics Policies of the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) include the fact that any board member with an immediate family member or relative who is employed in the district may not participate in any aspect of negotiations, nor may that board member vote on the approval of the MOA (Memorandum of Understanding). To do so would amount to a violation of N.J.S.A.18A:12-24(b) and (c). According to the NJSBA definition, a domestic partner is considered to be a relative. A domestic partnership is a relationship, usually between couples, who live together and share a common domestic life, but are not married (to each other or to anyone else).

The Ridgewood Education Association (REA) , the local teachers union has announced that it is officially endorsing candidates Mary Micale and Julie Mchedlishvili in the upcoming election for Ridgewood Board of Education. This is the first time that the REA has ever endorsed a candidate for office.
