Ridgewood NJ,Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield said Thursday that the health risks of keeping schools closed are greater than those of opening them, amid a push by President Trump to have students in classrooms this fall. “I’m of the point of view as a public health leader in this nation, that having the schools actually closed is a greater public health threat to the children than having the schools reopen,” Redfield told The Hill’s Steve Clemons.

At the Ridgewood Board of Education during the discussion of the Infant/Toddler Development Center , “Due to the pandemic, the district may have to pivot at any time; therefore, we cannot guarantee that schools will not be directed to close buildings and transition to remote learning.” The district is currently surveying parents and prepping for the opening  .

Ridgewood NJ, there is currently a petition being circulated in Ridgewood  to drop the charges made against the young woman arrested for protesting in town during the “Black Lives Matters” protest.

One of the residents promoting the petition said on Facebook, “Regardless of if you agree with the protesters, I think we can all agree that sending this young woman to trial isn’t the best use of the town’s time or money.
I believe that Ridgewood is better than this. Please consider signing the petition so we can continue having constructive conversations about these matters” …oh yes of course you do.

Ridgewood NJ, after the recent protests in Ridgewood several readers suggested  that Ridgewood Schools set up and exchange program with  the Paterson Schools system . If “rich white kids”  want to protest and speak for African Americans  who are struggling what better place to spend some quality time than Ridgewood’s neighbor “Silk City” or Paterson  . We are sure a two week immersion program will do wonders .

Reader says , “I prefer to judge everyone on their merits and nothing more”

“The “damn” history books are written by left-leaning Marxist professors who take every opportunity to sow racial division and present only “data” and “facts” that suit their narrative. I know. I worked in the industry for years. Authors are resistant to suggestions (or outright refuse) to include alternative points of view. They indoctrinate. They want to alter the course of this country. More recently, standardized tests (such as the SATs and AP exams) have been changed to test for different facts and events in history so that they coincide with the need to teach the agenda presented in the texts. For example, AP history exams are slowly but surely scrubbing or minimizing questions on Western Civilizations like ancient Greece and Rome so they are covered less in class since teachers naturally focus on what is needed to score well on the test. It’s insidious and it’s happening.

I prefer to judge everyone on their merits and nothing more. I’m not the least bit upset that blacks in the NBA are overrepresented given their % of the overall population. Whoever can do a job better gets the job. Let’s all stop being victims.”

Ridgewood NJ, whether you support or not the latest Black Lives Matter protest in Ridgewood one thing  is certain a lot of “white people ” feel very comfortable speaking for “black people” (white privilege ) . In stead of pointing fingers the Ridgewood blog did some research looking to find out what “black people” have to say for themselves. and interestingly we found a book called the “”Black Silent Majority”  and in that book there were some polls done specifically of African Americans , so we thought we would let them speak for themselves and what they said may surprise a lot of you .

“Some of you guys in the comments are disgusting. You know nothing about black history or why people are protesting. Black people have been fighting for equality for over 400 years. Educate yourselves before you speak. Stop being Karen’s & Kens & pick up a damn history book. Black people have to work 10 times harder than a white man or woman just because we’re black. You’ll never understand but at least stand for what’s right. You people disgust me.
Sincerely,
A young BLACK a woman”
