Ridgewood NJ, Village Council members will reportedly discuss the longstanding pedestrian safety issues on Clinton Avenue during their scheduled February 7th Work Session. The safety issues are related to school children walking in the street on their way to and from the nearby Ridge Elementary School. Currently, there are no public sidewalks on Clinton Avenue.

Ridgewood NJ, on January 26 some time around 8:00 am an elderly woman driver lost control of her car ,jumped a curb and hit a light pole on Chestnut Street in Ridgewood’s central business district. Ridgewood Police, Fire and Emergency Services as well as other Village employees rushed to the scene. We have no information as to the woman’s status . No pedestrians were hurt and the local cigar lounge remains fully intact .

Ridgewood NJ, according to Village Manager Kieth Kazmak , Connolly & Hickey Historical Architects, an architecture firm specializing in the restoration and rehabilitation of historic properties has been retained by the Village to design the restoration of the pedestrian tunnel at our train station. Repairing structural issues, ADA considerations and a new aesthetic design, including public artwork, are all part of the project. Later this year, plans will be made available for public review and feedback prior to being submitted to the NJ State Historic Preservation Office for approval.

Ridgewood NJ, Governor Phil Murphy today signed A1181/S2054 to make the completion of a financial aid application form a prerequisite to graduation for public high school and charter school students in New Jersey. Beginning with the 2023-2024 11th grade class, and for two school years thereafter, students and their guardians will be required to complete and submit either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the NJ Alternative Financial Aid Application, as guided by the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA), in order to receive their high school diploma. The information on a student’s financial aid application is used to notify them of any financial aid they are eligible to receive if they pursue a postsecondary education.
