Car Jumps Curb in Central Business District in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, on January 26 some time around 8:00 am an elderly woman driver lost control of her car ,jumped a curb and hit a light pole on Chestnut Street in Ridgewood’s central business district. Ridgewood Police, Fire and Emergency Services as well as other Village employees rushed to the scene. We have no information as to the woman’s status . No pedestrians were hurt and the local cigar lounge remains fully intact .

Architects Hired to Plan Historical Pedestrian Tunnel Renovation at Ridgewood Train Station

Ridgewood NJ, according to Village Manager Kieth Kazmak , Connolly & Hickey Historical Architects, an architecture firm specializing in the restoration and rehabilitation of historic properties has been retained by the Village to design the restoration of the pedestrian tunnel at our train station. Repairing structural issues, ADA considerations and a new aesthetic design, including public artwork, are all part of the project. Later this year, plans will be made available for public review and feedback prior to being submitted to the NJ State Historic Preservation Office for approval.

Valley Health System Appoints New System President, and Chief Operating Officer

Ridgewood NJ, Valley Health System has announced the promotion of Robert Brenner, MD, MMM, FACHE, to the position of President of Valley Health System. In his new role, Dr. Brenner will oversee the operations of the System’s three entities — The Valley Hospital, Valley Medical Group, and Valley Home Care — and begin serving on the Valley Health System Board of Trustees.

Ridgewood NJ, Bow Tie Partners, the parent company of the Warner Theater, has officially declared the permanent closure and cessation of operations for the longstanding Ridgewood movie theater. The threater business has not been a winner in a very long time , BetWinner app download .  The final evening showtimes on Sunday marked the conclusion of its operations, as announced in a press release on Monday, cue the calls for a RHS Performing Arts Center and BetWinner Br .

Governor Murphy Signs Legislation Requiring High School Students to Complete Financial Aid Applications to Graduate

Ridgewood NJ, Governor Phil Murphy today signed A1181/S2054 to make the completion of a financial aid application form a prerequisite to graduation for public high school and charter school students in New Jersey. Beginning with the 2023-2024 11th grade class, and for two school years thereafter, students and their guardians will be required to complete and submit either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the NJ Alternative Financial Aid Application, as guided by the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA), in order to receive their high school diploma. The information on a student’s financial aid application is used to notify them of any financial aid they are eligible to receive if they pursue a postsecondary education.

The Village has prioritized these concerns and has engaged the US Army Corps. of Engineers and the NJ DEP as we seek Federal and State support for flood mitigation. We must protect residential properties and both Village and Board of Education assets. I addressed this topic at the Village Council meeting last night.”
