Village of Ridgewood Council Okays installation of Bus Shelter at Ridgewood High School

Ridgewood NJ, Village Council members have unanimously approved the installation of a prefabricated shelter at a current westbound NJ Transit bus stop serving RHS students (E. Ridgewood Ave. near the RHS tennis courts). The shelter will be similar in design to the one now in place on N. Monroe St, near W. Glen Ave. (see photos). Village Manager Keith Kazmark reported that the installation, on RHS property, has been approved by the Board of Education.

Residents are invited to say goodbye to Councilmember Lorraine Reynolds and thank her for her service, and witness the swearing in of Councilmembers Paul Vagianos and Pamela Perron, and Councilmember-elect Frank Mortimer. The new Village Council will vote on who will be Mayor, Deputy Mayor and President Pro Tempore.

E. Glen Ave & N. Maple Ave in Ridgewood Intersection Improvement – Status?

Ridgewood NJ, Several weeks ago, there was much talk at a Village Council meeting about the upcoming installation of a lead green signal at the intersection of E. Glen Ave. and N. Maple Ave.
The lead green would provide northbound traffic on N. Maple a 10-15 second jump on movement, allowing a number of vehicles to turn left onto E. Glen, which would reduce backups on northbound N. Maple.
What happened to this initiative?

Ridgewood NJ, at the Wednesday Village Council meeting, Councilwoman Reynolds asked attorney Matthew Rogers whether a cap could be put on spending for each candidate for local election campaigns. Looks like that’s not possible. She also asked whether campaign donations could be limited to Ridgewood origin. Also a no go. This came during discussion about how hard it is to get people to run for office.

Reminder: Village in Ridgewood Code Prohibits Temporary Signs on Public Property
