Paramus NJ, Paramus Police. Paramus EMS, and Paramus Fire Department responded to a Sunday night, 11/20, single vehicle rollover crash near 15 East Midland Avenue, Paramus. The Range Rover’s driver was uninjured in the mishap and refused medical attention. A flatbed tow truck righted the high end SUV and removed it from the scene.

Cape Canaveral FL, NASA’s Space Launch System rocket took off at 1:47 AM from Cape Canaveral, Florida on Wednesday. The event marks a major success for NASA’s Artemis program to return to the Moon. The SLS carried its Orion capsule to an altitude of just under 4,000 kilometers before the two craft separated and the core stage of the rocket fell back to Earth. Orion will orbit the Moon for several days before splashing down to the ocean on December 11. NASA plans to launch the first crewed Moon landings since 1972 in 2025.

Ridgewood NJ, “Woke” darling Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of shuttered blood testing company Theranos, was sentenced to 135 months, or 11 1/4 years, in prison on Friday for defrauding investors. The sentence falls short of the maximum possible punishment for Holmes, who faced as many as 20 years in prison. Holmes has been ordered to serve three years of supervised release after the sentence. Holmes offered a tearful apology before the judge issued the sentence, quoting the poet Rumi, “Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”

Upper Saddle River NJ, nearby law enforcement agencies have reported a scam involving suspects posing as members the computer repair company “Geek Squad”. The scam was initiated by a phone call to the victim claiming she owed money for a service plan. The victim ultimately provided a checking account number and lost a large sum of money. This scam was successful in the reporting area on two occasions.
